comparing the price, shortage of facilities like gym was disappointing a bit

We really enjoyed this facility with everything it has to offer. The hotel is located close to the subway line slightly north of Kyoto Station and easily accessible by public transport. The Higashi Hongan-ji Temple, which is right next to the hotel, is stunning and compared to all the overrun tourist spots not as frequently visited, making it a great site. The spa facilities and massage offered at the Kanra are a must!

Some things in the room were slightly banged up and could have used some paint and repair, mostly the walls and pillars.

Our room faced a major road which meant you could hear the cars driving by. I also didn’t like that when asking for a late check out they said it is only available for a fee of ¥3000 for the hour. I didn’t mind paying it, but either the room is available or not for late checkout. Trying to get $20 USD after spending close to $500 a night feels a little odd.

It was exactly what we were looking for with our hotel in Kyoto. The decor was exactly what we thought of for staying in a Japanese style hotel.

It was super close to the metro station. The hotel was beautiful. Our room was very spacious and we loved the onsen. The design was very modern and well thought out.

The room was really spacious and comfortable. The location was right next to a metro stop which made moving around the city super easy. It had restaurants nearby. The staff was helpful and professional.

The room was absolutely stunning and larger than most apartments. Very high quality toiletries and skincare, and beautiful hinoki bath. Breakfast was excellent with so many options. Hotel was conveniently located next to Kyoto station and walkable to Gion and restaurants.

The reception and concierge staff were excellent. They were very helpful to provide maps of nearby attraction, recommendation of restaurants, even called for tour's opening hours as we did not speak Japanese. The hotel also made available e-bikes for the day and provide upon request Amazon fire stick to view streaming US channels. We will definitely stay at this hotel again for the excellent facility and the location near subway and Kyoto Station.

Beautiful hotel with very helpful staff. The room was immaculate and very comfy, the breakfast was very good, location is excellent (10mins from station, 15 mins from centre). We really enjoyed our stay and would come again.

It is hard to fault the hotel Kanra in Kyoto. From the moment you walk in the doors the hotel feels luxurious and calming. The staff are helpful and made our stay seem less and easy giving recommendations and guidance. The rooms are large and beautifully fit out. The highlight of the stay is the bathroom fit out with the beautiful bathtub.

There is not enough space to hang clothes, If you need to do some simple manual laundry. There are no blackout curtains on the windows, so you can only rely on the curtains in the interior compartments.

Nice buffet, location is good, near Gojo station. Even we put the do not clean room message, they still put the change of new supplies and new bottles of water in front of the door. Very attentive!!

Lousy coffee blend is about all I can nit pick about this lovely hotel.

Location. You can walk to most places. Metro station 5 mins walk. Very clean. Lovely Japanese feel and the room was big.

Free bikes available to explore the surroundings. Great entry area to sit and talk with friends and enjoy 24hr coffee and tea. Really close to attractions and main area which was within walking distance. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable
