I stayed in the Japanese room! Very comfortable! The owner was always at my disposal for everything and very kind. The traditional breakfast was really good! I loved to have a typical Japanese breakfast !! And the shuttle from the station is always available and I could leave my luggage some hours after the check out and go with the shuttle to take the train to Tokyo at 3 pm. Very kind staff and nice people! I’ll return for sure!!!

I got viciously attacked by a mosquito one night and couldn't sleep at all. May be my fault however for opening the window. 🥲

Loved my stay here. Manager-san is extremely kind and helpful. The room was bigger than i had expected for 1 person stay. Futon cover was super thick and fluffy. Location was fantastic— just 2 min walk to the bridge with a stunning view. Across the road from Kawaguchiko Herb Museum bus stop with all the sightseeing lines. 5 min walk to Lawson. A beautiful 40 min stroll around the lake to Oishi Park. Most importantly, i am OBSESSED with the traditional style windows. ❤️

The mt. fuji view from the room is fantastic. Its a typical Japanese Ryokan so you can enjoy a Japanese style public bath and tatami room. The hotel is super clean. Staff is super helpful.

A bit dated, but in a good way

Great hospitality and communication with the stuff, who knew English. They are really trying to go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The room was big with a view to Fuji, the location was near the lake and public transportation. A nice traditional onsen.

We came for the view which, from our room, exceeded expectations. We will come back because of the awesome staff who went out of their way to make us feel at home. We stayed one night on our way from Tokyo to Kyoto by train. We ordered dinner the night of arrival and breakfast the next day. Both were delicious, traditional Japanese meals served with a spectacular view of Mt Fuji. Our waitress inquired where we were headed and recommended we consider an express bus to Mishima where we could get a bullet train to Kyoto. We agreed and before we knew it she had already made reservations for us! This saved us at least an hour and the misery of several train stops. Not fully evident from the property description is the supreme location of the hotel. As the name suggests, it’s near the lake, but also within walking distance of convenience stores, restaurants and several shops. The hotel also offers shuttle service to and from the train station. If you are planning a stay in Kawaguchiko (which you should) and want to be pampered with the full Japanese experience, let Lakeside Hotel pamper you as they did our family.

The breakfast was very nice. Feel like home cook from mom. The location is great close to everything. There is a bus stop across the street. The bike rental nearby. Good for morning run around the lake. The onsen is very nice and clean. The owners are super kind. There is a hotel van to transfer you to the Kawaguchi Ko station. I'm happy to stay here. Will be back 100% :)

Staff went out of their way to make our stay most enjoyable, including with their suggestions and advice. Breakfast was different each day, excellent in quality and adjusted to meet our personal preferences. Similar with dinner. And we were in luck: the view of Mt Fuji from our room window over 4 consecutive days was magical, stunning, breathtaking.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Our Japanese style room was large, super clean and with a view to Mt Fuji. The beds were made on the floor, cosy and surprisingly comfortable. The onsen was nice and the amenities smelled wonderfully. The breakfast was like a small Japanese banquet everyday! Everything was delicious! The best of all was the staff, always happy to help and glad to see us. We highly recommend this hotel for a true Japanese experience!

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Has everything you need, indoor public bath, yukata, public amenities etc. Public bath is good sized and very clean. Location is only 20 minutes walk from Kawaguchiko station; bus stop is few steps from the hotel. The owners will also offer to drive you to the stations, though we declined as we loved walking around the vicinity. The lake is almost directly opposite the hotel. Room itelf was nice. We had a twin room that was good sized for 2 adults. Had the best view of Mt Fuji! We opted for breakfast and it was delicious and homely. Best thing about this place is how wonderful the owners are. Loved chatting to the lady at reception. Very accommodating and always trying to make things easier for us. The gentleman that picked us up even greeted us is our native language. They were kind enough to drive our bags to the station after check out too. Had a lovely time, only wished we stayed longer. Thank you!
