The pick-up service from Toyama station was nice, 5 min to the house from the station. The staff will be holding your name on the paper. The house was big and cozy, floor heating was nice and warm. There was a supermarket nearby, u can cook for yourself in the big kitchen in the house. Bathtub was also super nice!! I'll definitely book again when I visit Toyama again next time. Parents were so satisfied with this Toyama trip.

This property is spotlessly clean and in an extremely good location. Matsuda-san took the effort to pick us up from Toyama train station and even offered to send us back to the train station on our day of departure to Tokyo. The size of the house in Japan is second to none, and there are lots of space for a family up to 8 even. The house is fully equipped with ALL the essentials, including not one but two washing machines with built in dryer as well. The bath tub inside the bathroom is probably one of the biggest I have had in Japan thus far. I will highly recommended this beautiful house if you are planning to visit Toyama.

This was our second stay here at Kimachi Tei this year alone! We were here in Jan 2023 and again in April 2023. It was beautiful to see the change in seasons! As always, Matsuda san (the property manager) was welcoming and very accomodating...he's truly a friend to us! The house is EXTREMELY well maintained and comfortable. As mentioned in my previous review, the attention to detail for this fine quality house is admirable and we can't wait to return!

For Japan standards, this is a huge, spacious house and it is beautifully renovated with the finest finishes. There is sufficient bedding for 11 people but there are only 1.5 baths (separate toilet & bathing area on 1st level & toilet only on 2nd level), which is typical for Japan houses. The house is impressive to say the least and seeing it in person is even better than the pictures themselves...NO false advertising here! There is an impressive professional grade kitchen with 2 large sinks and even an ice maker! The beautiful wood floors and fine tatami mats are heated. The bathtub had a micro bubble feature jaccuzi, that turned the clear water turn into a milky finish...never seen anything like it! The house is thoughfully designed with Western finishes and traditional Japanese tatami rooms and there is even a separate tea house in the garden. The house manager, Matsuda san is an absolute delight! He provided transportation to/from Toyama station (a few minutes drive away) and he was able to make all of our dinner renovations at recommended restaurants, that we all fabulous! We thoroughly LOVED our stay here at Kimachi-Tei!

No downsides. Just suggestions and notes. It would have been helpful if there were hooks to hang jackets/caps near the entrance. Also in the vanity area there was no way to hang the bath/face towels or clothes. Some hooks or bars would be good. For those who are sensitive to light while sleeping please take note that the bedroom windows are not fully blacked out so bring eyeshades. I think all traditional japanese houses don't use black out screens. To avoid being startled by the ice machine at night, close all the doors before going to bed and you'll be alright.

Travelled as a family of four with two kids in tow. Both below 12 years old. Location is central and the property is a ten minute walk to the Toyama JR Train Station. Probably not advisable if you have a lot of luggage. Taxi from the train station was about 1000Yen. Check in was smooth. Property is in a quiet residential area. Beautiful interiors with a very traditional japanese aesthetic and feel. 2 WCs, One bath area and two vanity areas with full amenities. Hair dryer, toothbrush, shaver, bath and face towels provided. Rooms are large and comfortable. Kitchen equipment is exceptional, makes me think of a restaurant set up. Wifi is good. Nice courtyard with japanese garden and a little tea hut in the courtyard. Dining was at the large coffee table in the living room. Laundry area with 2 washing machines. The property would probably fit 10-11 people comfortably. Bath times would have to be scheduled then. To sum up facilities were excellent. Supermarket is nearby, less than 10 mins walk. There are plenty of restaurant options available within walking distance. Fantastic accomodation and would definitely book this again when we are back in Toyama.

Twenty years in Japan and I can say this is the best property I’ve ever stayed at. I can not say enough positive things about this property. The place was clean beyond anything I have seen. The location was perfect: close to the station, but in a quiet neighborhood. Very spacious, traditional and everything needed for a stay in Toyama (a supermarket is close by). I will return to Toyama just to enjoy this inn again.
