If anything could be bettered it would be to supply a little more tourist information about the local area, although it was quite fun to wander around and make our own discoveries

The location of this apartment is ideal for access to public transport and for wandering around the Gion district. The apartment is clean and modern with everything you need , in spite of being inside a traditional looking building The manager is outstanding -a great communicator who met us on arrival to give us the door code and to explain workings of the accommodation. He also kindly ordered a taxi for us to the station on departure Towels and supplies were replenished daily and the apartment cleaned each day All in all ,a wonderful stay in a quiet street just off the main drag

I was traveling alone, and whilst the stay itself felt safe, I didn't feel especially safe by myself getting to the apartment when it was dark (it is down a couple back streets). Also, whilst the bed is traditional, it was very uncomfortable for a 5-night stay

Someone met me at the apartment to give instructions and show me around. Location was great and the apartment was very spacious and comfortable! Had everything you needed (including kitchen, washing machine etc.)

Loved this property. It was clean, comfortable and tidy. Had everything you could need and the property manager was delightful and very helpful. Great location to Gion, had a lovely morning walk taking in all the amazing sites in the area. Highly recommend.

The layout and cleanliness. The manager Mr Takase San was very supportive and helpful. Many of the possible hiccups were smoothen out by him.

Perhaps another seat in house (we were a party of 4) though we appreciate that the style was one of minimalism. Also, we couldn't locate plug for kitchen sink or tea towels and we felt awful leaving dishes for cleaner.

The aesthetics of the house; it was beautifully presented and thought out. We loved the deep bath which filled itself and the option of futon beds. It was very clean and amenities generally good. The house manager Takase was exceptionally helpful. The location in Gion was excellent. We felt as if we had stepped back into another era; utterly enchanting.

Only criticism is the smallish beds but it’s minor

Excellent location close to a lot of the main sites and easy walking distance to shopping areas. The accommodation was ideal, had all the amenities needed for a home away from home. Very good value for money. Staff were super helpful and courteous, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Everything was great - no complaints whatever. In our case, a very, very minor suggestion may be having a separate washer and dryer unit since each cycle requires about 2 hours and we had multiple loads due to a prior cruise.

Staff provided excellent recommendations and answered many questions regarding shopping, eateries, transportation. We got lost finding the Residences so we arrived late; however, they were so kind to find us outside! Amazing design - in a small space, we had everything that we needed and so clean. Excellent location - walking distance to everything, including the bus stop! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! Would definitely stay again.

Description of apartment said private bathroom plus additional bathroom which we now know means two toilets. As we were four people travelling we thought there was two bathrooms but only one shared one. Also said toaster but we couldn't find one. mattresses in second bedroom was on tatami mat which we knew but mattresses extremely thin which made for a few uncomfortable nights.

Location was wonderful near major sites of interest. Plenty of food options also close by. Hosts were excellent and very helpful. Accommodation was very clean and was serviced daily.

Our stay at Komatsu Residences was wonderful and the service is top-notch! Even before checking in, the team was responsive to our messages and questions, and even went the extra mile and provided the service to help us get tickets for the Plum Blossom Festival. Upon checking in, Manager Takase-san patiently introduced us to the apartment and being concerned that it would rain on one of the days that we were in Kyoto, even offered us umbrellas. The care and concern for guests really shines though - really appreciate the team at Komatsu Residences! Needless to say, staying in an apartment in a Kyo-machiya was amazing - the space was spacious with a kitchenette to relax, the heated floors added warmth to our winter stay, there was a bathtub with a view of a garden, the mattresses were placed on beautiful tatami mats, and we were also able to do our laundry comfortably inside the apartment. Location-wise, we were also pleasantly surprised by the proximity of the property to popular places of interests, such as Kiyomizu-dera, Sannenzaka, Ninenzaka and Gion - all within walking distance! We could also easily walk to the train station - thumbs up for transport and accessibility!

This apartment is very tastefully decorated, has wonderful beds, is very clean and well equipped. It is very well located for exploring Kyoto. Yet wonderfully quiet. We stayed there as a family and were all absolutely delighted. Especially Mr. Takase was a great help and very friendly. I have very rarely had such quick communication with an accommodation. If we come to Kyoto again, we will take this apartment again. It is highly recommended!

I can't think of a single thing.

Our accommodation was just lovely - warm, comfortable, super stylish, and totally exceeded expectations. And our hosts were incredible, meeting us there on arrival and settling us in. They were amazing when ever we had questions about anything - called us taxis when we needed them, explained to us how to see a doctor when we needed to - and were super prompt in responding too. And the area also exceeded expectation. We could walk out our door and right in amongst the beautiful little streets of Higasiyama / Gion.

The quilt seems to be a duvet, so it's a little hot to sleep at night.

The traffic is very convenient, it's only 5 minutes from the bus stop, and the famous Kiyomizu Temple is nearby. No, it's about 15 minutes. The decoration has a sense of design, Very comfortable,and the facilities are very complete and convenient. The service attitude is very good, and the staff are very patient and kind.

Nothing at all. Loved everything about it.

Everything about the property was divine! The apartment has everything you could possibly need for a holiday home and all the appliances and fittings are new and great quality. My family stayed in one of the two bedroom apartments and it felt very spacious. The biggest bonus was having two toilets! Such a luxury! We loved the location which is close to Gion with lots of restaurant options and close to bus routes.
