Sleeping on the floor was not my cup of tea and although the room was very clean, the breakfast was buffet style and there was a patron there that was clearly sick using the facilities.

Our view was amazing looking onto the lake. We were celebrating our 20 yr wedding anniversary so wanted to experience something different whilst in Japan. The dinner was traditionally served and visually stunning and we booked a private onsen experience which was great. The staff are super helpful!

- spacious room - walking distance to station, however free shuttle bus is also provided to and fro hotel - great and sweet service especially by Etsuko san - we booked room with private onsen overlooking the lake and the public onsen is also very good! - clear view of mt fuji at the rooftop too :)) *please book the dinner at least for one night! satisfaction is guaranteed😊😊

Nothing, all good.

Everything was great. The room was as advertised with a large balcony overlooking the lake. We rented out a private spa and water temp was just perfect with a nice view of Mt Fuji. The best thing was the in-room dining. The food was excellent and having the ability to eat quietly in our own room was a plus (as we realised the next morning at breakfast that it could get quite busy). Yuki-san who served us dinner in our room was excellent. Thanks Yuki-san! We have been to a fair few ryokans around Japan over the years (>10) and I would rate this as one of the better ones. You get more than what you pay for. Oh, and free public parking right in front of the hotel is a plus if you are renting a car.

The futon mats I wish were a little thicker for more comfort and only two washing machine so it was hard to find one open.

Staff was very friendly. We loved the private bath in the room and rooftop footpath was nice to look at all the views of Mt Fuji. The room was laid out nicely.

Everything was great; this ryokan is phenomenal. Exceptional service, food, location, and facilities. We will make it a point to come back. Half-board with food included is well worth it.

The only negative was they had a wine dispenser in the hotel but provided plastic glasses for it so we chose not to use it. If you order from the menu they bring you a proper glass.

The hotel is located on the lake with great views of Mt Fuji and a short walk to the station. Facilities where fantastic.

It was located in such a difficult to reach place, we struggled with bus rides.I don't think that the amenities and the whole design of the room and the fact that they didn't renovate them for years it worth a big amount of money.It was a traditional ryocan, nothing else.

Honestly nothing. Only thing of note was that the style of the room and building was on the older side, but everything was in good condition and spotless. The HVAC in the room was a little interesting, but worked fine.

Absolutely loved our stay. We booked a room with a lake view and private tub, but the public onsen has amazing views of Mt. Fuji and plenty of spa facilities to enjoy. Dinner in the room was incredible and our dinner staff was so friendly. Breakfast buffet was also one of the best I've ever had. Staff was accommodating with holding onto our luggage before checkin and after checkout so we could explore the area. Considering our experience and the included meals, I'd consider what we paid great value. We treated ourselves to this relaxing ryokan day after 4 long days exploring Tokyo, and it was totally worth it. We left feeling refreshed and relaxed.

The beds a little itch to the skin, not sure if there are bed bugs or clean sufficiently. Found tiny bug on the tatami floor but not a big issue. Its the bed and seat cushions that need to be ensure clean well.. There are only few restaurants around hotel. Lawson convenience shop is helpful for grabbing quick bite. Halal Indian restaurant around the corner.

The lunch/ dinner are awesome.. sumptuous meals. Great shuttle bus service to and from Kawaguchiko station. Hotel pickups at platform 10. The hotel faces the beautiful serene kawaguchiko lake and has good view of mount Fuji at rooftop.

Reception guy told us that there is no taxi early in the morning to Chureito padoga but that was not true. We booked it after all. I guess he just didn’t want to have stress (mendoksai).

We booked the best and the most expensive room with a Fuji view and an outside onsen bath. We had a breakfast and kaiseki dinner. Kaiseki dinner was just perfect and we loved it. I tried many times kaiseki nun Japan but that one was just exceptional. The room was luxury and onsen was great: the public one and our private. Roof top bath was so cute. Nice little shop and free of charge coffee even after check out. Room service so polite and helpful. Free of charge pick up and drop off to the station is also very helpful.

It's a must-do when visiting mount Fuji ! The hotel, the TEAM, the room with Lake view, the food - dinner was WOW and breakfast so so good, atmosphere - everybody taking care of us with so much pleasure - this is real Japan to experience ! Make sure to book private onsen at check-in - view of Fuji is lovely, if you're lucky with weather during your stay !

When our lovely hostess was collecting dishes after the dinner, she was pointing at each piece of food that was not yet eaten and was trying to prompt us to eat it, despite our statement, that we are finished. Dinner was such a big portion (after which was dessert!) that it was impossible to eat everything and hearing "this is very tasty, please try it" a couple of times after we said that we're finished was not necessary at all and made us feel like we are visiting our grandmother that always forces more and more food into us.

Where to begin. Never in my life I had an honour and pleasure of staying in such an exceptional hotel. From the moment of arrival to, sadly, leaving it, we were charmed by the quality of everything, including the staff. Our room was spacious, with the most beatiful lake view. Food - both breakfast buffet and dinner served in our room - was out of this world. The variety of products, the quality, freshness - outstanding. And the onsen itself... Public or private, all clean, cosy, remained in traditional style, but with many modern upgrades that faciliates the stay. We fell in love with this hotel and if ever we visit Kawaguchiko again, I'm sure we'll go back to Konanso.
