How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Can't really say as I didn't have a negative experience. I enjoyed the stay and accommodations.
Good location, reasonable price. The breakfast included was pretty good, too. I eat plant based (so that can sometimes be challenging with eating away from home) but I was able to find some good options at the breakfast buffet to be satisfied.

Nothing really.
Very conveniently located just at a walking distance from the JR Asahikawa station, rooms are a bit small but the beds are super comfortable, necessary amenities are available, breakfast is good, the staff is professional and helpful. I had a pleasant stay in this hotel.

laundry facilities, specifically the driers need some attention, filled and clogged lint filters, got too hot but did not dry as a result; someone actually removed our clothes from drier to put theirs in and didn't put ours back.
The staff are wonderful. The parking (automated/elevator) is very cool. The location close to city/dining center is great. And, did I say how friendly the staff are?

Great stay. Room was nice and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but yummy. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby to explore.

The breakfast was kind of average, but for the price at least I was fed and it kept me going all day!
The staff were super nice and helpful, typical Japanese hospitality they couldn’t do enough. Parking at the property is well organised

The hotel is old and the room was very small. I like a firm mattress, but mine was so hard I had trouble sleeping. My husband had a better one. We had a twin room, maybe a double bed is better. For the price we paid we thought parking should be included.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent. They have a Happy Hour from 6pm till 8pm, where you get a free drink and a snack (even hot food). The room was clean, the breakfast is included in the price and was ok.

Little issue about the reservation but the staff helped us to solve it.
The breakfast was good, quiet building, the bed was large and very comfortable. Very nice location, close to the main station and different restaurants and shops.

Hotel had all the amenities. Choice of pillows, free laundry, excellent breakfast included, en suite, even an extension power point in the room. Happy hour was a nice touch with a free drink and snacks. Lots of thoughtful touches in the hotel. Booked a room with a large double bed which was king size.

I wish they catered more for different diets: I am vegan and I contacted them 1 month in advance to inquiry whether there'd be anything I could eat for breakfast, and they replied advising me to book somewhere else. I found that a bit rude, but I figured it was probably the language barrier. I decided to keep the option with breakfast included and there were indeed a few things I could have: other than coffee and juice, white rice, some vegetables and pickles were available. It wouldn't be difficult to offer some plain tofu, beans and having 1 choice of non-dairy milk.
Nice hotel only about 10 minutes walking from the station. I stayed there 2 nights (not consecutively) and I had both a double room and a single room. Both rooms were spacious enough, had all the comfort one might need and beds were comfortable. Everything looked clean. Free to use washing machine and dryer on the 4th floor (you can purchase a single dose of laundry detergent for 50 yen at the front desk), manga corner (if you read Japanese), ice machine. Happy hour in the evening with 1x free drink and snacks.
