Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

PortugalAir conditioning is not controlled by the guests or even by the hotel. It was so cold in the room that we could only turn it off and hope to be warmer. As a solution, hotel asked if we wanted more blankets... After turning it off it was ok, but it never felt as comfortable as other hotels were we control the A/C. Breakfast seems expensive at the hotel so we did not try it, but there are a lot of places to have breakfast a few meters from the hotel.
Perfect place to stay in the heart of Kyoto - Gion. For me the location was everything since it allowed me to explore things at night while there are less tourists. Kōdai-ji temple looks amazing at night, and even just strolling through Gion is amazing. It is in a main street with bus station nearby. There is also a metro station maybe 500 meters away. It was easy to move around. The hotel room was nice, since they are never too big, they had elevated beds were we could store our luggage, this is a plus. Hotel had all the amenities. Staff was nice and really helpful when we decided to use the services that ship our bags to the next hotel. Helped us with the paperwork and even confirmed with the next hotel that everything was ok to receive our bags there.

LithuaniaComparing to other hotels, sound isolation in this one was quite poor. I heard almost everything from the rooms around and outside too even tho I stayed on 6th floor. So if you tend to be rather noisy for some particular reasons ;) keep on mind, you'll be heard.
Relatively big for Japanese standards. Good location. Very quick check in. Clean. Not my first stay in Apa hotels, usually they leave me happy.

AustraliaNow that I'm familiar with the area, I might choose something a little quieter. The restaurant is a little difficult to find on the first day as the signs are unclear.
The hotel is on the main street in Kyoto, so very handy to all the touristy activities. The room was sufficient and a standard size in Japan. They offered breakfast and had a good range on the buffet.

Great location near beautiful streets of Gion and Yasaka Jinja/Maruyama Park. Bus stops very near. Great cleaning and nice variety of complimentary toiletries. Breakfast served also some western foods like croissants and cereal. Staff was super nice.

CanadaNothing really, pretty great experience, rooms are small, as most are I believe in Japan, but not really note worthy to be a negative comment.
Loved the location, fairly close to station stops, convenient stores and Kiyomizu deru temple, lots of convenient stores and kimono rental and most of them don't need reservations I noticed, so walk in was okay. Bed was comfortable with amenities provided, they do have scheduled room service but they do call before hand if you're okay or not, building has its own Starbucks too. Would definitely recommend.
