Room was nice and spacious. Location was just perfect - you can reach easily all attraction with a walking distance. Onsen was very nice and well equipped. I feel that staying in this place added a lot to our Kioto experience ☺️

If I had to be nitpicky, I would say their elevators are very slow lol.

The property is unassuming from the outside, but inside it's quite modern and very clean. The rooms were huge for Japan, and the futons were actually incredibly comfortable! The bathrooms in the rooms were also super modern which was a nice surprise. They include yukatas and a cute little set. I unfortunately didn't get to try the Onsen but I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff is also very kind and attentive! One lady even helped us bring our luggage to our Uber!! Highly recommend this place!

The location is Gion and it's conveient. The hotel has onsen and it's really good to soak in Onsen at the end of the day for the relaxation. Room is huge and it's traditional style.

Traditional Japanese Ryokan with modern facilities. Everything was new and in perfect condition, without spoiling the charm of being in a tradigital Ryokan. The baths were also new and spotless clean. The staff were incredibly helpful, and organised our luggage to be sent to our next destination. We had a family room for four people, and the room had its own bathroom and separate toilet. Perfect location to walk around the Gion district. We had a lovely time.

I have no complaints for this location. Honestly one of the best experiences I had. The only mishap was that I requested for a plus-sized yukata prior to my arrival and despite their confirmation, I had to call the front desk to request again. It was resolved quickly and there was no problem after that.

I had only 5 hours of sleep here but it genuinely felt so nice and relaxing. Onsen was enjoyable, the futons were so luxurious and comfortable, and the room was beautiful. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and breakfast was absolutely delicious. We had so much food we could not finish it, but definitely worth it.

By far the hardest tatami bed I had in Japan so far which I was not used to sleep on. Room equipment was somewhat subpar. At least one could expect a tiny fridge for this room price. Breakfast plan was quite expensive.

I arranged for a local transfer of my luggage as the hotel does not have availability for 3 nights. To my dismay they took my money and told me they could not do it and force me to return by 6pm as the hotel will close by then. A major disruption to our itinerary of the day

The staff tried their very best to communicate with us. They are polite and helpful. I think we asked if there is a restaurant within the hotel, they said no. But actually as we walked out in less than 10 mins. we would get shops and food.

I'd say it was a bit pricey for what we got, and we had opt out of breakfast and dinner that were quite expensive. Sleeping on futons was in fact quite 😣, although we're used to hard mattresses. This is not a critique of the hotel but something to be aware of. We were eventually happy that we only stayed one night, our backs were hurting a lot. Still, I think it's a nice place and worth visiting if you're looking to stay at a ryokan.

We liked staying at this ryokan and enjoyed the Japanese style room, and the onsen. Everything was very clean, the room very spacious and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We loved the onsen.

Don't usually ever leave a review but very disappointed with what we thought would be a very special experience. -value for money bad - $250 p/night, written online that there was a fridge in the room, no fridge in the room for our toddlers food. Staff nice to keep it in their fridge but very inconvenient and frustrating to constantly need to visit the lobby at all hours when it was written it was included. -opening hours of the bath house ridiculously limited (closed between 9am-4pm). Advertised on its site and booking.com - that there was a private shower room available 24/7 which would have been fine but at 9.15am when our toddler had an accident we were told that there was nothing for him to use as it was 15mins after the bath house closing time and there were no other options. For $250p/night, quite shocked there were no options for any shower from 9-4pm. -disappointed as unable to book dinner - the bath house and the culinary experience dinner was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. We emailed the hotel and requested to book dinner, 30hrs in advance, and were told we could not book dinner for the entirety of our stay as it was too short notice and we should have booked it 1 week in advance to prepare the food. Did not receive any emails about this when we booked and could not find mention of this on their website or booking.com so extremely disappointing, were really looking forward to this culinary experience.
