Everything- very friendly, efficient and helpful staff, a beautiful spacious and well equipped room with the choice of western or Japanese breakfasts, both of which were delicious. In a quiet location less than a mile from the station but alongside a small canal not far from the river. Would definitely recommend.

Staff was helpful and fluent in English. Rooms were large and clean, has AC for those hot nights. Cypress tubs had an amazing scent and made bathing a joy. 7-11 within walking distance along with several coffee shops, pubs and restaurants.

As outlined above - English speaking TV or at least, English captions. Black tea bags. The room was probably a bit expensive for its location.

The location is about a 30 minute walk from the centre of town. The room is a good size (lots of space to move and store bags), clean and comfortable with mat flooring, a comfortable Western style bed and low Japanese style chairs. The bathroom is authentic, Japanese style with a cedar bath. The TV had no English channels which was a bit frustrating and unfortunately there was some construction going on in the street canal opposite our room window. There was beautiful china for tea but they only had green tea bags available. A little bit limiting.

The staff was Amazing, hotel was very clean, room was large for us we had 3 beds plenty of space and in was in a great quiet area. If you are looking for a traditional but also very Modern hotel this is it. Book right away. 10 out of 10 must stay! We will stay here again next time we come.

The room was spacious and clean. The toiletries and coffee provided were high quality. The staff is very helpful with our needs and most of them understand English. Our front desk, Jane, was able to assist us with our luggage transfer from Kyoto to Osaka. They are also very responsive in the email and messages. Overall, it was a great place to relax after going around Kyoto.

What an amazing stay. Every thing was thought out and detailed out for the most amazing stay. The bathroom and room were wonderful. Close to subway and close to restaurants and a wonderful coffee shop across the canal. The staff went above and beyond for us and we even used the laundry service.

I saw someone comment about a smell in the room. I think this comes from the cedar bath in the bathroom and so is a natural odour.

Beautiful traditional bath with cypress tub. (Not hot spring water) We really enjoyed the traditional bamboo floors and friendly staff. This is also a great location with restaurants nearby and easy train access.

We chose this hotel because we wanted to experience staying in a Ryokan. Loved the traditional Japanese ambiance with a modern twist. Room was very spacious and equipped with window blinds that blocks out the light in the morning. We also loved the wooden bathroom and tub.
