It was expensive but it was worth it! It is a little far from central Kyoto but close to Nijo station which connects you anywhere you’d want to visit

This hotel is gorgeous - every detail has been planned out in the rooms and it is perfect. The bed is super comfortable and that bathroom is luxurious. We wish we could have stayed at this hotel longer!

As this is a smaller, boutique hotel - there are not many places except the lobby area and your room to relax.

Very high quality breakfast, with a choice of Japanese or Western. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Location is also great as there is a train station less than 2 minute walk away, and easy to book taxis.

No pool or spa facilities. Bar and restaurant were by reservation only so if you wanted a quick meal or a happy hour cocktail, you had to go somewhere else. Only one sink in the bathroom. Had beautiful patio, but too hot out to use it and too many biting insects to be comfortable. Insect repellent would be a nice addition.

Taxi drivers do not know about this hotel, probably because this hotel is relatively new. Plus very difficult for foreigners to pronounce the name of the hotel to make Japanese taxi drivers understand. Time is cure.

This hotel is exceptional, from the staff, to the design and decor, and the fabulous rooms. It is well located for an easy walk or train to many of Kyoto's tourist sites. The 10 course degustation dinner at the hotel restaurant was amazing, as was the included breakfast. A special mention for the fabulous professional staff.

Everything about our stay was great. All of the staff were wonderful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The restaurant was fabulous, again the staff were perfect and the food was both unusual and delicious. The hotel was beautiful and encompassed traditional Japanese with modern. The management of the hotel was excellent.

Nothing to dislike, except that parting was sweet sorrow..

Beautifully appointed, serene, high quality furniture and decorations throughout. The STAFF is without peer - the kindest, most thoughtful hotel staff I have ever met. They helped make the hotel feel like home away from home, and also provided excellent suggestions for nearby UnSun, restaurants and making reservations, temples, art galleries and souvenir shops. No detail is overlooked in the service and room design. I simply do not think I can stay anywhere else in Kyoto in the future. Wonderful and first-rate food, a boutique hotel with a few number of rooms which helps to keep the quality of service high. Everything felt custom made and tailored for us to have the most enjoyable experience possible. I cannot say enough about what the phone I’ll tell the citizens and what a wonderful memory they helped us to create. A warm thank you to all the staff at the front desk, housekeeping and the restaurant. 誠にありがとうございました！
