Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel is situated near the peak. There is quite a distance to cover to get to the ski resort but the hotel arranges for transport as long as you have informed them in prior. The ski rent store is also very nearby to the hotel and they also have the facility to store the ski gear. The staff was friendly and they were always ready to help. The rooms are as advertised. I loved the bathtub because it had the massage option and the rooms are well insulated for winters.

AustraliaNothing to complain about.
The ambience, the character of the building, the man who ran the building was on top of everything. Nothing was hard for him and it was spotless. The awesome breakfast in the grand dining room was something to look forward to.the service was impeccable. The food cooked to perfection. I totally enjoyed my stay at La neige Honkan.

United KingdomReally great service and very nice location. 5 min walk from Happo One ski resort, Sakka ski lift. If you want to take the gondola, it’s a bit further away, but the hotel staff are very nice and take you by car. Our room (207) was really nice, with a nice forest view. Staff were very friendly and helpful, they even ordered a taxi for us when I messaged them on booking.com as we were in a different location.

Dear La Neige Team, Thank you a lot for your hospitality during our stay. We are in love with La Neige Honkan building and already wish to come back! We liked Honkan even more than main building, with its history and specific vibe. We do hope other guests will have same feeling. Special thanks to Aya, who personally helped us with lost of specific requests during our stay (helped with luggage which was lost by airplane, helped to send it to Niseko later on, etc etc). In the La Neige Honkan building breakfast was served in the restaurant on the ground floor. Their staff are just amazing people (3 team members, same people every day, but unfortunately I do not remember all 3 names, thus will not put 2 to not hurt someone`s feelings, but it is just my bad memory) - they are doing more than expected to make your breakfast or dinner best part of your day. I do recommend to have at least 1 time dinner during your stay in the restraint and I am sure you will come back next day. Thank you!

AustraliaAs it’s about 10mins from town, getting dinner meant you had to book a hotel taxi. There was no free shuttle. Making restaurant reservations was a challenge each night as the restaurants were always full and you needed to go via reception.
The service provided by all staff both at the hotel and in the restaurant was exceptional. As I was unable to make phone calls, I was helped with making a medical appointment. The bath and bath salts provided was a lovely luxury after each day skiing. The bed was very comfortable.

AustraliaFor 5 stars, the rooms are ok but need a refresh, especially the bathroom. You really need a car to stay here as it is a fair way from the main town area and it is a bit painful catching the resort shuttles or trying to get taxis. If you don't have a car, you are isolated from most of the hakuban restaurants and to a degree the other resorts. If the hotel could organise regular drop off / pick up runs down to the village at night with its own shuttles, that would help a lot. Only one washing machine for the whole hotel is pretty average when most visitors are coming to Japan who need to wash at least once. Lots of guests complained about this.
Staff were outstanding and really made the stay an excellent experience, going over and above to be helpful. Excellent location for ski straight onto happo one. Italian restaurant was pretty good.

AustraliaNothing at all!
We loved our stay here! Walking distance to a few of the cafes/restaurants and the staff were super lovely. The room was nice and big and really clean. We also loved the added feature of a dry room to put all our snowboard gear in. Hakuba in January is peak for tourism so we found it difficult trying to book dinners ourselves- we asked the hotel for recommendations and next thing you know they’ve booked us dinners for the week as well as taxis to and from. Couldn’t fault this place and will definitely be staying here again next time we visit.

VietnamThe hotel is a bit old (but it is well maintained though). I would be more helpful if they can change the breakfast menu. Everyday there is only egg to choose!
The staff are so nice and so helpful. They are very polite too. Breakfasts are greatly served as a la carte. The hotel is located very nicely in the forest. When it’s snowing the scenery is really beautiful. Rooms are very clean. We really feel comfortable living there!
