Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThe location wise is a bit challenging if you do not have car. The food options for dinner is limited since you can only make reservation at the hotel in advance.
Love the stunning view of Mt Fuji and the place was very clean when we checked in as well. Love the shower area which also offers a good view of the Mt. Fuji. A relaxing onsen hotel which suits family and for relaxation.

The Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko view from the lobby and room is breathtaking. The restaurant Western and Japanese food was awesome. The hotel staff provided exceptional customer service in particular the restaurant waiting staff, Yamada san and Emmanel Sato san. I was also delighted to have complimentary beverages at the lobby anytime of the day and also ramen for supper at night. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at La Vista very much. Thank you La Vista!

United StatesI am obsessed with this stay. The view is absolutely unbeatable. I def recommend going for the full course dinner though as well! Even me, being a vegetarian, they accommodated so well, and really made me feel as though I was getting a formal 8 course meal, even though it's mainly vegetables. The view was undeniable. The facilities were perfection. The only thing to note, was that everything is a bit old/outdated. I'm super particular and it didn't even phase me, but I certainly took note of all the things. In a way, it's a bit nice, a call to another time. But it was really like staying in a nice hotel in the 90's.

TaiwanThere were some spiders lying on the ceiling of the bathtub, which makes some experience reduction when you enjoying the bathtub. Recommend the hotel to clean the ceiling periodically.
The view was so fantastic, bathing in the room and watch the Mt. fuji was awesome. Also the dinner and breakfast were both great and unique. Easy to park the car.

AustraliaThe property is located in a beautiful position that gave us outstanding views of Mt Fuji on a clear day. We loved having our own private outdoor spa bath and enjoyed using the private onsens too. The free ramen at 10:30pm was a considerate gesture to guests and free train station transfers made everything a breeze.

AustriaIt’s on the hill, a bit away from the lake (maybe 10min walk), not a problem just a heads up for people with disabilities or older guests. However, there is a shuttle bus provided by the hotel!
the property has an exceptional view of Mt. Fuji, both from the lobby and the room we had. Additionally, all the amenities are amazing. The spa is open 24/7 (private onsens), while the public ones work quite long hours with a maintenance break during the day so you can enjoy the spa even at 2am if you feel like doing so. the rooms are nicely equiped with a mix of modern and traditional japanese design and features. the bathrobes and pajamas are super comfy :) Staff is exceptionally pleasant and welcoming!

AustraliaIt is a little far from away from shops, would recommend having a car if possible. But they also have a few shuttles that go to the Kawaguchiko Station.

The location is far from Kawaguchiko station and quite isolated. I rented a car so it was fine for me. However, If you use a public bus, you need to walk uphill/ downhill to the bus station. You can't reach any tourist spot by foot unless you are a strong hiker. No restaurant around, and the hotel only serves French cuisine, which is very expensive for dinner courses.
Beautiful hotel with nice public and private onsen. The breakfast buffet is delicious. The room is considered large for Japanese hotels. Staff at the front desk can speak basic English. Excellence view from my room and the restaurant as shown in the photos. Recommend for anyone who has your own vehicle.

United StatesThe location of the hotel is both a blessing and a curse. My wife and I took the train into Kawaguchiko and were able to schedule the hotel shuttle to pick us up and bring us to the hotel. Once at the hotel, there's not much around it in terms of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. A lot of the surrounding hotels and homestays have bicycles that they rent or loan out. It would be really nice if La Vista had some bikes for this purpose as we had to take a taxi all of the way back into town to then rent bikes and bike 20-25 minutes back to the hotel.
This resort property is very nice overall! My wife and I stayed here so that we could easily hike to some of the trails in the mountain range located directly behind the property. The resort has five private onsens each with a different theme. They also have two public onsens, one for males and one for females. The rooms are nice, spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet has plenty of variety. The hotel has a shuttle that will pick you up from and take you to the Kawaguchiko train/bus station. There is a wonderful gelato shop within a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Our room had spectacular views of Mt Fuji.

New ZealandSlightly off the beaten track without a car but they provided a free shuttle into town so long as you reserved a seat in advance.

Hong KongThe room I booked with balcony facing Fujisen, bathroom also facing the same. The view is great, but since my room was on 4th floor, you can see the front block, it would be much better if you can get a room on higher floors. Breakfast was of great variety. We also took the French dinner at hotel during our stay, and it was great also! Staff is friendly and helpful all the way! They offered free coffee and drinks at lobby which is a plus.

IrelandA little far from town so the area was very quiet at night. No dinner options apart from the set dinner. Private onsen was first come first served so guests with tattoos can't book one in advance.
Great view of Mt Fuji from the room. Nice public onsen. Breakfast was good and room was comfortable.
