Loved the property. Just be aware than dinner options are very, very limited in this area in the spring. Luckily, a conbini is nearby.

Very comfortable rooms that were bigger than expected. The beds were excellent. Easy self check in so there was no staff involvement during our stay, however their communication was excellent beforehand so I felt ok with that. Great location on the lakeside in Motohakone-ko. Easy access to bus and pirate ship tours. The room was very clean we loved everything about this property.

A few things were in a bit of disrepair. The sink was loose, one of the screen doors fell out on the balcony. These things can easily be fixed, however, and did not interfere with the trip. Well, they do have an Onsen on site, it is just fine, but not magical

It is a fabulously interesting experience. The staff are particularly excellent. The dinner and breakfast were magnificent. Truly unique experiences. We were also transferring to a second hotel for our second night in town and one of the staff spontaneously volunteered to arrange to send our baggage ahead for us so we didn’t have to carry it all day. There was no charge for this service. We were super impressed.

If there is instruction tells how easy to find the property from lake side road will be great. ( back of the main street)

somehow there was confusion and the email did not arrive but fortunately the phone number was posted so I was able to make contact and get the room number and access code. I might suggest sending a confirmation email with reply so that the critical information can be communicated when required.

the room was compact but had all the amenities required. the microwave and fridge was a great bonus. the property was the perfect location for activities on the lake. we were able to walk to all attractions. the bus terminal was very close. markets and convenient stores were easily walk-able. highly recommend the accommodations.

There's no elevator, so carrying the luggage upstairs was quite a challenge. I was unsure of where to dispose of the garbage (no instruction were provided)

The room was designed so effectively that it felt larger than its actual size. I love the decorations and the meticulous attention to detail. I was assigned a room with a balcony, and waking up to the view of Lake Ashi every morning was simply breathtaking. Without a doubt, I will choose to stay here again the next time I visit Lake Ashi.

Some things were obviously not clean (toilet seat, tea cup). There was not a real window that you could open / no view to anywhere.

It was conveniently located close to lake Ashi and the shrine. A few nice restaurants / cafes in walking distance.

The door is just locked with a code I felt like its very unsafe but I heard Japan is good and a safe country so I’m not too worried about that

The space was small, but pretty typical for Japanese standards. Thew two of us only had backpacks with us for this stay and it was still very cramped even without our rolling luggage that we shipped ahead of us to our next hotel. Highly recommend packing as lightly as you can and ship your luggage via a service like Kuro Neko if you stay here/Hakone in general.

The best parts about this stay were the keyless entry into the room (streamlined our arrival), and the location. The proximity to the bus station for the Tozan Buses and Motohakone Port for the Pirate Ship Sightseeing Cruise on Lake Ashi (both used the Hakone Freepass). We also woke up early had had a very short walk to Hakone Shrine and Heiwa no Torii for uninterrupted photo opportunities at those very popular attractions. The apartment was reasonably priced and if it weren't so cloudy, we had a great view of Lake Ashi (and maybe even Mt. Fuji)!

hard to move the big luggages upstairs. A little bit small to spread out.

The unit was on the 2nd floor. (But it was great!) So its not adviseable to go here with children or older people who has a hard time walking. Adviseable for young ones. Also, not adviseable if you are travelling with a big trolley. Advise you to only bring a small trolley or a backpack as it is still quite a walk to the bus or taxi station.

The place was clean and directly across the lake. Really nice cozy feel. Bonus that it has a microwave and a ref that we didnt get to use.
