The dormitory room I was in had bad ventilation and smelt bad at night. There was a window there but it couldn’t be opened so sleeping in the room at night was hard due to the heat from all the people in there.

The staff were friendly and accomodating. They provided information about local restaurant’s which I should try. The location was great and right near everything.

I got put in a top bunk for a week and my knee isn't great. If the hostel had proactively asked me if I wanted to move given I watched the lower bunks in my room free up or could have given me a lower bed in the first place I would have liked that.

Check in with smooth. They stored my luggage the day I was leaving with no issues. They were really helpful in advising me how to ship my luggage to my last destination and where to go to do that. The cafe downstairs also had a great vibe and very friendly service. All in all a solid location to stay at, at reasonable rate.

The decoration inside the dorm is not compatible with that of the restroom.

The 6 bed room was a bit small, but confortable for few nights.

Great location in the center of Kyoto, at 5min walking time to Gyon district. The coffee/restaurant is very nice with a cosy atmosphere. I recommend the breakfast!

Bathrooms have barn doors and don’t actually close like a proper door, so be wary of noise and smells. Cafe is a bit pricey for what it is, especially the beer. It’s got an industrial design with metal piping and concrete etc which gathers dust and can be cold. The property was pricey when compared to other similar accommodations in Kyoto. If a hostel provides free earplugs - use them because you probably will need them.

Great location, easy walk to everywhere, quiet and convenient, good atmosphere. This is a proper youth hostel, for sure, so if that’s the vibe you’re looking for, this is the place. They did provide lots of free ear plugs. I didn’t mind making our own beds with the provided sheets, but just know you’ll need to do that.

The food selection was very limited. The portion for the vegetarian selection felt very small (smaller than the non-vegetarian option). & the mushrooms were not cooked. This was a bit peculiar to me. Aside from this, the food tasted good & the matcha tea with oat milk I had was great.

I loved the shower area. It was large enough to get in & out of without any issues. I loved the lavender or chamomile scented body wash, shampoo, & conditioner. Very nice touch to have all 3 for free in the showers.

Everything was perfect!

The staff were very friendly, the energy in the lobby was so upbeat and cozy, and the café was wonderful. The room was spacious and quiet, even though the windows overlooked a busy street. Perfect location near lots of Kyoto temples, parks, restaurants, and walking paths. Great value!

The smell of the rooms were pretty unpleasant. It also hot quite hot in the top space of the bunk beds, I saw that there was a small fan but it was only on by the bottom beds. Could use more space in the bathroom to put my stuff instead of the floor.

Clean facilities and an appropriate quietness for sleeping. Nice communal space to use in the mornings. Appreciated the kitchen amenities that were provided. The personal lights for each bed were nice and other people's lights didn't feel invasive when I was sleeping

Ventilation is very loud at night, not much room for luggage, room was very warm and stuffy

Location is great, very close to the gion district and in walking distance to many great restaurants and shops. Also right next to a bus stop and close to a metro stop to get anywhere you like :) hostel is clean and beds are comfortable. The staff was very nice

No shelving or places to put anything on when you are on the top bunk (phone and water bottle were falling off). Only 1 washing machine for the whole place, definitely could have made it easier to have another one available.

Location was superb! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a generous size with tall ceilings. Bathrooms were clean and a good size as well. The cafe downstairs was also a plus, good coffee in the morning - we didn’t eat here because there are so many other good options around, but the food looked okay.

Unable to rest in the common space at the entry unless buying food/drinks, as the cafe/restaurant is open to the public. Food/drinks are quite expensive there also.

It's a silly thing but the toilet paper in the bathrooms is a little thin.

The staff are so lovely, the rooms are warm and cosy, and the facilities are clean. The location is great. The staff provided an umbrella when it was raining.

The room would get hot and stuffy after a while which wasn't the biggest deal but, may be an issue in warmer weather...

The spaces are well kept, nicely decorated and comfortable! Met a few lovely people, despite the hostel being quiet, and the staff were all very nice and professional.
