The interior design of the place was elegant and chic, and I loved the atmosphere of the lobby. There were a variety of books that you can read, and the music was really relaxing as well.

The pajama was a bit small to me, but it’s totally fine.

It’s a beautiful quiet place to stay. It’s only 5 minutes walk to the bus station to the airport. The staffs are helpful and friendly, and I’m sorry that I carried a very heavy suitcase. They supply drinks on the front desk, so you can chat with other travelers or the staffs while you drinking. I really enjoyed the time I stayed.

Amazing design. Great attention to details. Very unique property in a historic Japanese home with all the modern necessities and wonderful design. You can tell the owner put a lot of thoughts in designing the amazing interior. Also the person who greeted us was very nice and helpful, level of service definitely on par with a four star property. It was one of the highlights of our stay in Kyushu.

Not much, with the shared bathroom you sometimes have to wait, but I understand a lot of traditional ryokans are designed like that and it is not a problem for me.

The property is very beautifully designed and smells amazing! The common area is relaxing and welcoming, and the room is spacious with a very comfortable bed. Special thanks for Mr. Takasaki for his hospitality!

The website has many ways and recommendations to explore around hotel. Really love it. I'd like them to add what kind of facilities are available like fridge, kettle and other more. It would be nicer.

Interior features are excellent and it is obviously he enjoys them a lot. This place should exist for chill out like I did. I also liked dorm bed. It gives me a great sleep!

The staff is very kind and friendly. It was surprising that staff can speak Korean / Japanese / Chinese fluently. The building was redesigned from an old house, so much appreciated for keeping the old amazing materials and combining them with modern furniture. Also had a great time having dinner at 古町千 yakitori next to the hotel. I would definitely visit again next time! :)

Just outside centre of town so a little bit of a walk to main attractions

Lovely traditional style hostel walking distance from station. Stayed in a private room which was clean and comfortable. As pre-warned walls are literally paper thin but didn’t have any problems with noise from other guests. Host was friendly, spoke great English and gave some good eating and sake recommendations

The female dorm is a bit stuffy when staying in bed, esp when the light is on and curtain is down I had to roll up the curtain for a while and sleep at the entrance of my “bed box” Perhaps it would be better if a tiny fan is provided in the compartment

Appreciated the idea of turning this traditional wooden building into hostel. it’s an unique experience in staying here. Love the simplicity of this hostel and the quite environment. Since the rooms are at second floor, guests need to carry their luggage up, but it’s alright. Host is fluent in English and friendly.

The customer service in this accommodation is really exceptional. The owner is fluent in English and really kind and supporting. It was possible to leave my luggage before the check-in. After checking in the owner recommended me activities, restaurants and bars suiting my preferences. The accommodation itself is really beautiful and has a pleasant smell to it. The “room” is comfortable in size and the bed is very cosy.

There is no front reception, so you need to message the staff first if you want to enter the premise. I walked to the wrong building because there was no sign telling me that I need to.

Our stay at Tudzura was exceptional, great interior design and ambience (it even smells lovely), every corner has its story to tell. Room was comfy, though we had the smallest private room, it still felt quite spacious. Staff were super helpful and friendly, also generous in sharing tips for food and sightseeing. They felt like old friends to us although we had just met. Don’t miss out the drinks and sweets served at the cafe/ common area here. We had some tasty Kumamoto sake and desserts. The cute neighborhood around is worth exploring and gave us a different perspective of the city. The synergy amongst shops here is adorable. It was a perfect stay - will definitely come back!

This accommodation was renovated from a historical restaurant since 2021, so everything is pretty clean and new yet with a nice historical vibe. Great library collection in the public area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Electronic appliance and furniture selection are stunning.

It is more like a youth hostel - I could hear the sounds that my neighbor stayers made. Since this hotel was in a renovated space of a old & historic facility, the ceiling height is set too low. The room and facility are overall too dark. More room illumination may be needed.

Location - 1 stop away from the Kumamoto station by a street train. Very historic and Japanese facility. Recommended for whoever wishes to experience something unique. The room is concise/compact (good for a single-traveler), and everything was approachable from a bed space.
