Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe walls were bare cement which gave the impression of a bunker. Pretty sad feeling. There was an awful mould smell in the room, which didn’t go away even after opening windows, use sprays or the kitchen extractor. My clothes and my suitcase smell of mould. There was no table and no wardrobe in the room, just a shelf, a chair and 4 hangers. There was no staff to talk about all these issues and I didn’t want to get on a back and forth emails session. I simply stayed in the room just for the night.
The location was great. Close to a convenient store, restaurants, monorail and about 10 minutes walk to Kokusai Dori. It took me 25 minutes from the airport to the accommodation. The air conditioning, the washing machine and the dryer in the room were fantastic. There was a tiny kitchen with a good size fridge. The double bed was comfortable with good quality bedsheets. There were loads of bath towels and sleepers.

ThailandThere is a kitchenette with a stove (that’s why we rented this room) but no pans or pots provided, so we cannot cook anything. Normally other places will have staff that we could ask to rent the cooking ware but this place, we are on our own, no staff present at all. So the kitchenette is pretty much worthless for us, just something the renter can put on the photos to deceive naive people like us.
Convenient location, close to the train station and next to Lawson. Clean room, comfy beds, large bathroom.

CanadaThe parking was not available but it was not a big deal. Didn't show up in Google map with the current facility name.
We liked the spacious room with a kitchen, laundry and nice size bath. It was just our unit on the top floor so it felt very private. Super convenient location with so many restaurants nearby and the train station to the airport in a few minutes walk. The staff accommodated the additional guest in timely manner. Check-in/check-out was easy.

JapanNo table and chairs if you want to eat inside the room. They have a limited number of utensils and kitchenwares for rental. It would have been nice if they provide those in every room.
Location. It was perfect, near the Miebashi station and the Kokusai dori. And they have washing machine and dryer in every room. Which is very convenient if you’re staying for a number of days.

TaiwanNo staff in the hotel, which makes it inconvenient when there’s a problem. Apparently, they double booked the parking space, both of us group holding the same confirmation email with the same parking space number. it was late, the other family decided to find other parking near by.
Our room is on the top floor, which gives us total privacy and city view from the balcony.

ItalyThe place is very noisy for different reasons: being close to a central area and to a conbini means noisy people at all times of day and night; there have been work in progress for the all duration of my stay and even at night it was noisy; sound insulation is not good, the window is single glass and there is noise coming from the air-vents, due to their location.
The hotel is conveniently located near Miebashi station and just 10 minutes walk from the main shopping street. There are plenty of restaurants and Izakaya nearby as well as convenience stores (Lawson is just beside the hotel). Although there is not a desk and the hotel has self check in, the staff is nice and helpful and the Hotel staff quickly responds to messages.

Hong KongWhile the shower area is enclosed by curtains, the curtain actually is forced "open" when you get out of the shower door and someone from outside the building could easily peek in.
Our room was at the top floor and it was the only room on the floor. The facility was new and the room size was great for family of four. We also love to have the washer/dryer in the room. The self-service check in/out was also a new experience to us.

SingaporeNot much space to sit, not much hooks or racks to hang clothes within the room and toilets - though there are hanging racks at the balcony. You can hear the night crowd from the streets on weekends but that wasn't too much of a problem as the noise was intermitten.
Well equipped room (washer, dryer, detergent, extra towels, balcony with laundry rack, microwave etc.); Good location (4mins walk to miebashi station and 711, right opposite lawson). Spacious toilets. Good between-room soundproofing.

Loved where the hotel is located , there’s a lot of eateries around the hotel , Lawson is just next to the hotel. Monorail station just 5 mins walk from the hotel which makes it very convenient to travel without a car , if you have a car , there’s parking lots nearby the hotel if the hotel’s parking is full. Walking distance to kokusai street as well as makishi market.
