Gas heater can be replaced due to the odour issue. I cannot stand the smell when the gas heater is on.

Spacious room. Clean. Helpful staff. Perfect location.

You have to leave your keys at the front desk when you go out. I expect this prevents guests from losing them when they're on the ski hill, but anyone could grab your key and go to your room when you're out

Not too far a walk from the Lawson and Happo Bus Station Clean and comfortable

We had to leave the key every time we went out and the private traditional japanese toilet, difficult to use after a long day of skii.

The room was traditional and clean, very cozy and warm at winter. Simple check in and check out. Good communication with staff. Good location for skiing in Happo one. Nice views.

The lodge is very far from bus/JR station. It is ok if you go there by car. The room is a bit cold even turn on the heater.

The owner is very helpful and know a bit of English. I barely ok to communicate with her. The room is very basic, but ok for short stay. Luckily I stayed on the ground floor, otherwise, it will be impossible to walk upstair with my big suitcase

Run by a lovely family and is clean but a little dated

Although it’s a traditional Japanese place it could do with a renovation and some western style toilets putting in. I would stay again but I honestly would most likely look for somewhere abit more modern but for the price I paid I couldn’t exactly complain and the family is lovely so don’t be put off.

It’s a family run place and the son is really nice and friendly. The place is a little dated and we had a traditional Japanese toilet which may put some people off. But it is in a good area 10 minute walk to two areas with bars and a seven eleven up the road. Plenty of parking. It reasonably cheap and I would stay again.

Great value villa with everything you could want as a sole traveller. Spacious and warm with good ensuite facilities. The inclusion of a western-style bed in a more traditional Japanese villa was a nice touch and ensured I remained well rested throughout my week long stay. Lodge Villa Happo is well located with Happo Bus Terminal, Lawson Convenience Store, Happo-one Ski Resort and Hakuba village all a short distance away.

This lodge was about 1.2km away from Hakuba station. The nearest bus stop was Hakuba Bus Terminal but the waiting time between two buses was quite long so you need to check the timetable carefully, or you need to walk to this place. Also, there were not a lot of food stores or combini here.

Friendly owners. She also guided me on how to go to Happo-One ike and Karamatsu mountain. The room was large and fully equipped.
