Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesStrict about not letting you upstairs until check in time. Good thing there is a mall with a bathroom not too far away. They also don't let you store your bags after checkout.
It has everything you could ask for, amenities wise. You basically have a little room to yourself with a curtain for a door.

United KingdomThe property is honestly great there’s just absolutely no social atmosphere (or wasn’t when I went). I stayed 3 nights and probably said 10 words to 4 people across the whole time.
Super clean with loads of amenities Great capsules with space for your bag and shelves etc Lots of toilets and showers Large space to relax Wifi good Location close to peace park but a little far from centre

United KingdomLack of furniture in the common area for sitting down/relaxing. Cutlery was minimal.
Clean and spacious. Didn't see any member of staff during my one night stay. Not sure how to contact anyone if there had been a problem. The kitchen was small but functional. The dorm was a good size and the capsule beds were spacious as well. Good location near tram stop. On-site laundry facilities for a fee.

SlovakiaThe door to the female dormitory was not locked in any way and anyone could enter it. The capsule also had only a curtain without any locks. It's not possible to leave luggage at the hostel after the check-out.
The facilities were clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was very convenient, close to the train station and the Atomic Bomb Museum.

SwitzerlandCapsule style hotel without staff in good location close to tram and bus stops. Nice facilities, showers, restrooms very clean, large communal room and washing maschine available. The dorms feel a bit cramped, space is limited but that is to expected in this kind of guesthouse. It was very quiet though so perfect for a good night's sleep. All in all recommended.

JapanThe slippers only went to a size 26, quite typical for Japanese sizes but as a hostel that will likely have many westerners a few bigger sizes would be helpful. No lift, which was fine just something to note if you have heavy bags. The ventilation in each cubicle was not the best and there was this weird noise each night which made it a little difficult to get to sleep. Not a social hostel, very to yourself.
The privacy of each bed was great. The bathrooms were big and very clean. Common area had microwave and other cooking utensils. Towels provided, easy check in process. Comfortable pillow and doona.

Hong KongThe check-in procedures were a bit too complicated, and this could be off-putting to some people.
Cozy and quiet; I had great sleep during my stay. The capsule has a small desk which is helpful for unloading stuffs. Also, although I didn’t meet any staff, the hostel was kept very clean and organised.

South KoreaI don't think I encountered any staff the whole time. For this price point, I guess that is the standard these days.
Location is quite nice, in a slightly more quiet part of town, but right on the main tram line that will whisk you into the city center one way, or to Peace Park the other way. Then again, many points of interest are within walking distance if you want to get around that way. Beds are great. Capsules are like little self-contained rooms with small desk and place for your luggage.

JapanThe common area and reception is shared with a sink area for one of the dorms (not mine) but if you want to sit and eat dinner you might be able to hear it even see someone brushing their teeth or shaving. The common area is quite small with limited seating, but the dorms (at least the female dorm did) do have couches too.
It's incredibly close to Urakami. Everything is clean and very easy. The beds were comfortable, room temperature was comfortable too. I'll stay here again.

United KingdomNot much! The atmosphere was a bit dead as there weren't many people staying there, and we didn't really see any staff whilst we were there as the check-in was done through a touch screen. It might be more lively at other times of the year though!
Great dorm rooms! Each capsule bunk had its own desk and space for a bag - it was one of the most spacious dorm beds we've had so far on our trip. The facilities were great too, there was a well stocked kitchen with stove top, pans and chopping boards, and it is possible to do laundry at the hostel too. The location is good if you want to go to the peace park and atomic bomb museum (both walking distance).
