Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaThe beds were really hard 😅 almost uncomfortable. Harder than their sister hotel in Osaka!
The layout with a separate room off to one side and two toilets was a great choice for our family. The wide dining table and seats were very comfortable and saw a lot of use when we were there! The staff were also friendly and helped us send our luggage ahead of us to Osaka so we didn’t have to drag them with us.

AustraliaLoved this property. The rooms are a decent size with a huge table for family meals/games. The property is well maintained, clean and tidy. The staff were very attentive. On our departure day it was raining buckets. The staff called us a taxi and held an umbrella over us while loading luggage and getting into the taxi. The location is about 1km from the main shopping area. There is a 24 hour supermarket just across the street. Loved everything, would definitely stay again.

AustraliaNothing really, the room size was fantastic and on par for what you'd expect to pay for such a room size, location was reasonable for most places, or cheap taxi ride to Kyoto station.
We travelled as 2A, 2C (12, 5yo) and we looooved this hotel. The room size was amazing, with TWO separate roomed toilets, nice big sized bathroom, big living area, and 2 actual bedrooms with heaps of space. We could separate our youngest in the room she shared with my wife when she went to bed a bit earlier than others. By far the biggest room we stayed in on our holiday. Had a nice big rainfall showerhead with a second showerhead option too, and good sized bath. Staff were friendly and helpful, with very good english. The location is right near a Fresco supermarket which was great for supplies and staples. We were able to borrow items from reception like toasters, vacuums for sealing bags when travelling etc, which was fantastic (we craved toast one day!!). There is a family entertainment room to book, and a laundry with a heap (7 or 8) washers AND dryers. We were worried that these would always be busy, but I think the busiest they got were half of them being used at once. Good value, dried pretty quickly. Trains were a little tricky or needed transfers, so we opted to use Taxis mostly. Seems buses are more suitable here than the train. Having said that, it was only a $12 taxi ride to Kyoto station. Bamboo Forest and Fushimi Inari are more expensive taxi rides, but we were able to comfortably visit Bamboo Forest (nobody there), the Golden Temple and Fushimi Inari in one day with taxis and felt the cost to be worth it vs lugging a pram and kids on beds/trains/metro/underground etc. Nice quiet neighbourhood, really happy overall.

CanadaNo suggestions.
The room was massive (by Japanese standards) and the extra bedroom was really nice. The room was beautiful and well appointed. We absolutely loved the shower room. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.

AustraliaI can't think of anything in particular. If I could be picky on one small thing, it would be the movie room is not available after 9pm, which is highly unusual given after a long day as a tourist and dinner, that's about the only time you get to "watch a movie". I think they should trust and allow guests to use it after 9pm.
Beautiful hotel, exceptionally clean and well maintained. The decor is top notch. Well designed for families. Good customer service, friendly and easy to approach staff. Right across the road from a Fresco, so very easy to pop out and buy snacks, drinks and a huge variety of food. Many things are walkable distance - about 15 mins walk. But also can zip around in taxis which are reasonably priced.

AustraliaThe spacious room with an awesome dining room was great to sit down to after a long day exploring. The beds were super comfortable. The location is in walking distance to trains stations and shopping malls and it is super quiet. Then hotel also has a traditional feel to it which made our experience even better. AustraliaNothing to fault for the hotel at all, just a note for other travellers. We didn’t love getting to the hotel from Kyoto station. We had so much baggage already and we were just having a tired day as we had come from Tokyo and departed our Shinkansen at Kyoto station. We couldn’t be bothered getting the extra two local train lines to get to the hotel, so we did the other suggested route of walking 1.1kms and regretted it. Once we had arrived we were more than happy with the “getting there” part. Having the option to do this again, we would take the local train options, post Shinkansen.
Fabulous room, super comfortable beds, great little kitchen, immaculately clean, modern and lovely hair and body products. We stayed with our family of 5 and loved Kyoto! The room size was great in Japanese sizing standards and as long as we were tidy and organised we were all fine. Staff were fabulous - many spoke fluent English and also assisted with a better train route for our Osaka trip over the Google maps options. We would stay here again and again and couldn’t have been happier.

NetherlandsDepending on the crowds, it can be loud on the corridors.
Spacious family rooms, comfy beds with bunk beds for the kids and a kitchenette with fridge and microwave. Perfect for quick breakfast in the morning and easy kid dinners. The location is so nice, quiet neighbourhood in a lush area but at close proximity to a lively area for dinners in the evening. Supermarket and convenience store around the corner as well as bike rental (also for kids!). Good space to store suitcases, hang clothes when needed and a seperate dinner table corner so the kids can sleep while you plan the next day or read a book.

United StatesIt woud have been nice if they had also vacuumed the room because after a couple of nights it needed it. When we called down to the front desk a couple of times they were friendly but they wanted to speak in person to answer our questions - which I believe was due to a language barrier. Expensive, but all places in Kyoto seemed to be.
Room was spacious for 4 people. The teens were in a bunk bed. The kitchenette was great, as was the table and chairs to eat at. It allowed us to have breakfast in our room with food we had bought at the grocery store. The room was certainlly very clean upon check in. We stayed 4 nights. They change the towels daily if you want them too and do a basic clean (empty the trash, and maybe make the bed - I can't remember). They were able to communicate well iln person and help with our inquiries.

AustraliaNo Netflix or smart TV (only local TV channels wasn't great for tourists who don't speak Japanese). Got lucky and was able to borrow an AppleTV device. Could use a more thorough clean - quite dusty in many places and greasy hand prints on the windows. Coin operated shared laundry, which was very 'linty'. More guidance on local restaurants, cafes and local highlights would have been appreciated.
Very spacious, which was a lovely surprise. Plenty of room for dining, and spreading out. Supermarket next door was terrific. Staff were helpful and friendly. Nice reception area.
