There is no breakfast and the staff can not speak English

Very large room with futon beds and place for the baggages in the wardrobe was very convenient inspite of the lack of private bathroom. The location is excellent the staff is very kind

The location was really good in the historical center. We did everything by foot from the fish market to the castle to the sento ! The room looked traditional and was even bigger than most hotels we've been too :)

lovely place, the tatami was comfortable and the room very spacious (expecially for japanese standards). our hosts were very cute. great location if you want to immerge yourself in the old district of Kanazawa, but keep in mind that the town centre is 15 min away across the river. location is great thought, very beautiful and quiet

The room had a kettle, but the dining room where the fridge was did not. Because it's traditional Japanese accommodation, it can be noisy, but fortunately our fellow guests were quiet.

Location in the old geisha district. It was quiet yet atmospheric. Great hosts who were eager to please.

The location of the minshuku is excellent, closely located to the geisha quartier and 15 minute-walk to the castle and the gardens. Very welcoming staff and good breakfast. Excellent quality/price value.

Bathroom was downstairs from us. Don't mind sharing a bathroom, but hard to walk down stairs in middle of night.

The building is already old, those floor give you some creaking sound while you walk. And at night, it's a little dark in the main hall on the first floor.

The location is right next to the famous higashi chaya street, not hard to find. Room was bigger than i thought, lovely tradition tatami floor. Everywhere is quite clean. You may used the shared fridge. Warm welcome from the owner.

I honestly can't say anything bad about this place, even if I wanted to.

The host was so sweet and kind! The room was very nice, with its own AC to cool down, and the Japanese layout really was lovely. The breakfast and tea were so good, I wish I could've stayed for longer than just one night! The location is great too. It's just next to the geisha district, and close on foot to the samurai district and the castle. All in all, extremely good value for money. I'd visit again anytime!

The location was perfect. I found the distance to most places of interest and public transport easily walkable. The room was traditionally decorated in a simple and tasteful way. The breakfast was outstanding - I ordered breakfast for two mornings and it was delicious with variations on both days.

the ryokan could use some upgrades (scuffed tables, stains, mould on curtain in shower room, etc.) it was a little unclear if the sink outside our room was for our singular use or for public use. Sharing of the bathroom/shower facilities is a little inconvenient but is fairly normal at ryokans, not the hotels fault just something to keep in mind.

it was such an interesting experience staying in an old style ryokan. the location is absolutely fabulous. the Japanese breakfast was awesome and very good value. the stay was also very fairly priced. the older couple that run the ryokan are absolutely lovely.

This hotel was a very traditional Japanese experience. The floor was made of tatami mats and the room was clean with plenty of natural light, the host gave me a tour of the hotel, he spoke very good english.
