The town is very small.

Clean, neat, tidy. Amenities are all available. Staff helpful and have reminders to our intended program on island . Great great value for money.

The futon was very thin, especially in the middle, which gave me some back pain after sleeping on it for a few nights. There is a dryer but no facilities to hang clothes that can't go into the dryer (like rain coats). So you have to hang them in your room, which leaves stains on the wooden walls.

Very good location, good wifi and parking right next to the building. Bus stop is also right in front of the building. The facilities are simple, but basic standard for japanese guest houses. There are recommendations and pamphlets available for what to do in Yakushima. Also the price is very fair.

Noise from upstairs was an issue.

Very good location. Proximity to a lot of excellent restaurants and a few min walk to bus station. Free parking, spacious room, clean toilets and baths, free towels, clean pantry with fridge, rice cooker, toaster etc. Bentos were also delivered to our room at 03:00 am for us to bring onto the Jomon Sugi hike. Maps and schedules were provided to us at check in. Check in only before 1800. Free luggage storage at the fishing store where we checked in at.

This is not a place for a solo traveler who looks for friends! I thought more solo travelers will stay there since the price was really good. But no... The new building is not near the reception

we stayed in the new building in a cute residential area. everything was clean. we had our own room and shared the bathroom, kitchen and toilets with the other residents. everyone was respectful and quiet. the building is walking distance from the port and close to some restaurants and cafes.

Very good location to the port and several restaurants, room was quite spacious with a kitchenette and was very clean. Lots of space for parking and the staff were pleasant and easy to communicate with.

The TV is smaller than those in airplanes...

Our room was in the "NEW" building, and was indeed brand new and clean. Even the shared kitchen, showers, and bathrooms were impeccable. The owner, who also takes care of a fishing shop, was very friendly and helpful.

The check out time is a bit early - 9. 30am to be exact and it doesn't seem that you can hang out in the common area after since the cleaning is in process.

It was very clean and all amenities are new. Also, there are two washing machines free of charge. Drying machines cost 100yen for 8min. There's also sneaker drying device which is useful if you've been hiking. The location is close to the bus stop and there are some restaurant around.

I stayed in the new building and it was really good. I slept on a futon but it’s super comfortable, the room was pretty big. It’s 20 minutes on foot from the port. You have 2 supermarkets around you and a lot of good restaurants near.

As in many places in Japan, the walls are very thin, so you might want to be careful of not being too noisy. And if you have a light sleep, take some ear plugs with you. There is a small "kitchen area" with a microwave, but I saw no tableware apart from disposable chopsticks. It's good for heating up a store-bought-lunchbox if you need to.

It's located in front of one of the bus stops in Miyanoura. It's very convenient to move around and close to the Miyanoura port and tourist information center. The room I stayed in was very comfortable, wide and clean. The receptionist was very kind and accommodating. I could do the check-in procedure earlier since I wanted to take the bus to do one of the trails. She showed me around and took my luggage to the room when it was ready. When I came back from the hike I could go straight to the room to rest and do my laundry.

Nothing. You can’t find better for this price honestly !

- Simple yet beautiful room on the second floor of the new building / great view on the mountains. - Fully equipped hotel with spotless kitchen and laundry room. - shared bathroom and toilets were extremely clean. - Fresh towels every day. - Very nice and helpful staff at the front desk, we were welcomed with informations on the area and a map for hikes. - Cafes and dinner options in the area, even in low season (we visited in February)
