Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe lack of washing and drying facilities was really difficult for us. We were 3/4 through a trip travelling through Japan and really needed to wash our stuff, however there was only ONE washer at the hotel, and the cycle took hours…and we never managed to catch it when someone hadn’t already been using it. So frustrating and surprising honestly for such a fancy / more expensive hotel option.
Awesome location, particularly view wise. So unreal, the view made you feel like you were in a movie waking up to it.

SpainEverything! The experience was amazing at Mizno Hotel, amazing private rooftop bath, and public onsen as well. The views of mount Fuji are simply unbelievable. It leaves you speechless. The highlight of our trip to Japan. They have free e-bikes which are amazing to go around the lakes. Unfortunately no kaiseki dinner available, but other than that, wonderful! They could do a bit of renovation to the traditional japanese rooms, but completely recommended :)

SingaporeIf you are not having meals there , you need to get transport to restaurants. Taxi at night may not be easy .. there is a local restaurant just down the hill but it was not opened while we were there. Went to a Isakaya near station but took a bit time to get a taxi back .
Great view & location is on a hill . Able to see Mt Fuji if the weather is cooperative. Stayed on 5th flr with a small balcony . Very nice author’s bar & lounge .. Bontique style & very pretty interior. Terrace on 6th flr not opened while we were there. Shuttle to station is convenient..

AustraliaI wish in future Japanese meals would be provided. That being said, the Western breakfast was very good!
Stayed here I'm 2019 and am back here again. Love the still impeccable service, the rooms facing the lake and Mt Fuji, and the attention to detail provided by staff. They have made the hotel more homey and have also been kind enough to provide lists for food recommendations around the area. This time we also rented a car to travel around the area which was also convenient seeing that Mizno is located at a height and the walk up/down can be quite steep.

SingaporeIf you are not driving, the walk up the slope to the hotel might be tiring. We are also not sure if the hotel offers regular pickup from Kawaguchiko Station as we did not enquire.
We had an unforgettable 3 nights at Mizno Hotel. The staff was really friendly and attentive, and their happiness is contagious. We also ordered the breakfast and dinner, which were really good, including the restaurant ambience and view. The view from the room was amazing, Mt Fuji looks alot bigger in real life than what your camera can capture, do not be fooled by online pictures thinking that it will look small and far away. Mt Fuji gloriously showed itself every single morning for the 3 days we stayed in Mizno Hotel, and we enjoyed looking at it while sitting at our balcony. There is also a free shuttle bus to Kawaguchiko Station every 30mins, which honestly was life saving - the red line sightseeing bus was nightmarishly overcrowded and many times we could not get on for multiple buses due to fully packed. We also reserved the private onsen, which was really nice to soak in after a long day. This is no doubt the best accoms we had in our 2 weeks in Japan.

SingaporeEverything was great, there is nothing we didn't like about this place.
The staff were all very helpful, kind and friendly. They even let us know that there were delivery services (similar to Uber Eats) in that area, and helped us with the ordering of our dinner when it was too dark for us to walk down to the city center to get food, as the hotel was located up a steep hill. When we arrived at Kawaguchiko station late due to getting lost, they even offered to fetch us up to the hotel even after the shuttle service hours. My husband and I are really grateful to the staff and the facilities (especially their private onsen) were really great! The hotel room that we picked had a great view of Fuji-san, but of course we were also lucky because the sky was clear during our stay. Do note whether you are able to view Fuji-san or not really depends on the weather condition. If it is cloudy, you will not be able to see Fuji-san be it you get a balcony room or not. All in all, the ammeneties and every about Mizno Hotel is really really great. 100% will recommend everyone to come here when they come visit Kawaguchiko.

Singaporethe only thing I didn't like was that my stay was too short!
Hotel with THE BEST view of Mt Fuji. It was truly amazing to wake up to a clear view of Fuji-san. The room itself was spacious and there was ample space to put everything. Room was so comfortable and spacious. Bathroom was huge. Appreciated the in-room Nespresso machine too. The staff were so amazingly hospitable, extremely attentive and just made their guests feel so welcome. The hotel provides a free shuttle van to the train station so once you arrive at Kawaguchiko station, you can give them a ring or ask the info counter outside the station to help you with it. Shuttle runs every 30 mins until 11am and in the afternoon (can't remember exactly what time). Remember to head up to the balcony on the top floor to get an unobstructed view of Mt Fuji. One of the best hotels I've stayed at in my life!

AustraliaThe hotel is located on a hill so it would be difficult to enter and exit on foot. We hired a car so it didn’t affect us as much.
The room was big, clean and the staff were so so friendly. The services provided at the hotel were abundant and we received a welcome drink upon arrival. Staff helped us with our baggage when we arrived and checked out of the hotel. There was a beautiful view of Mount Fuji from this hotel and there were many viewing spots located around the hotel. Public and private onsens are available.

SingaporeThe hotel located quite a bit up on the hill so if you come without any transportation, it would be a bit of a hike. The hotel provides a free shuttle from Kawaguchiko Station which can be called with the help of the Tourism Centre. The hotel itself has a vintage vibes with cozy atmosphere, and our room was facing the lake and Mount Fuji. The room itself is small but has everything we need, and very comfortable. The breakfast was great as well! Overall it's a recommended place to stay in :)
