This is one of the best hotel I have ever stayed at. So good it was my second stay here. The staff goes above and beyond to make it an enjoyable experience. I had a late check in where no one would be at the desk but they made sure I had access to the property and made sure I would have breakfast waiting for me the next morning. The location in minutes walking distance from everything important.

Getting to this place wasn't difficult, it's sort of hidden away from the main street but with GPS it was really easy to get there. It's located in a convenient place to see a good majority of the tourist spots in Kyoto, some were only a 10-20 minute walk from the hotel and going further was usually a train or two away. The place itself is beautiful. They have their own small kitchen with a small oven (like a microwave), mid-sized fridge filled with free drinks, and silverware available to make tea or coffee along with a coffee machine. Near the coffee machine, they have a container filled with a variety of teas and coffee pods. They have no restaurant for breakfast, so they have a service to bring breakfast to your room. Breakfast was western-style cuisine with a variety of drink options such as iced lattes, coffee, teas, and juices for breakfast. The food ingredients changed daily so there was no getting tired of the same taste during my week stay. Beds were comfortable and soft. Amenities were all good products, and the bathroom was huge! Definitely a fancy place! I enjoyed the atmosphere and it's next door from the local convenience store. Getting to the train was also convenient, only a 5-10 minute walk to the station plus a multitude of small cafes, stores, and beautiful scenery while walking past. It's also close to the main shopping district where the Nintendo Store is. I also enjoyed that it was close to the laundromat :). Staff is really polite, sweet, and nice!

Best hotel stay in Japan! Manager is very nice and will help you with making reservation in restaurants or sending your lugagge. The rooms are very clean and bathroom is spacious. Very good location 10 min. from train station and close to Nishiki market. Everybody from staff was very nice.

Absolutely everything! Beautiful room, super spacious. Extremely helpful and kind staff and a great location! Also great we could get breakfast delivered to our rooms every morning. No complains at all. We will be back every time we visit Kyoto :)

Very little that we didn’t like, but would’ve been handy to have an iron in the room.

The location was super convenient, the decor of the room was exceptional and the staff were friendly, helpful and down to earth. The lay out of the room was perfect and it had a good feng shui, making it relaxing and comfortable. The espresso machine and breakfast delivery was a nice touch!

First of all they were very kind. Especially the receptionist who welcomed us, explained everything and he was being funny also as a bonus :) Location is great, 20min walk to Gion, 10min walk to Nishiki market and the bus station is near. Room was very clean. Bed is comfortable and the shower and the bath are awesome. We were in few accomodations in Kyoto but this was the best.

The location was good, it is near several convenience shops open 24/7 as well as a laundry station. Bus stops and train station are quite near as well within few walking minutes. Being so accessable and yet still in a quiet area. The room was clean and comfortable, a bit small but manageable having toilet and shower seperate which was a great bonus when one needs to use the toilet and the other showers at the same time. The hotel manager was amazing, friendly and ready to help with whatever necessity we had. He went the extra mile with us and surely made our stay better. He arranged delivery of our luggage to the next hotel whilst we where out exploring Kyoto, left us our breakfast in the room as we had to leave early... and so many more instances.

Outright the best small hotel I've ever stayed at. We stayed at the suite and it was so spacious. The hotel room was high tech, from its door mechanism to its toilet that opens up as you open the door and auto flushes. The bathroom was spacious with a couple sink and complete with a jacuzzi to help re-energize you after long days sightseeing around Kyoto. The location of Hotel Muso is also very central, with Nishiki Market and Gion being a few blocks away, 7-Eleven across the street and lots and lots of local eateries around the hotel. Cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely book this hotel on our next visit to Kyoto.

Great location on a quiet street close to restaurants and shopping. Staff were so kind and helpful. Amenties in the room were high quality and plentiful. The hotel was boutique-like and very peaceful. It was a highlight of our trip to stay here. Check out the 05 Kyoto Rare Tea Bar just down the street - it's not to be missed either!

The room is spacious, allowing for the full spread of two large suitcases. The room is clean and comfortable, with the option to independently adjust the heating/air conditioning for a very comfortable stay. The staff is very warm, professional, and attentive. They are willing to assist travel-related inquiries, like calling taxis, making restaurant reservations…… providing a welcoming home-like atmosphere. The hotel's location is convenient, with a convenience store just a 1-minute walk away and the Kamo River reachable within a 5-minute walk. It's a hotel one would want to revisit and recommend to friends.

Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! It has a fantastic location and the rooms are top quality. The lobby hours are limited and there is no restaurant inside the hotel but this is definitely compensated by the amount of space and amenities in the rooms. Everything was spotless and the staff attitude was very friendly. Breakfast is included and delivered every morning directly at the room. The communication with the hotel was very smooth; we sent our luggage in advance from Tokyo and the hotel staff received and placed it in our room prior to our arrival. We will definitely repeat our stay here next time we visit Kyoto - recommended :)
