No washer/dryer in the room, just something to be aware of. Location can be far from some attractions, but this is the case with anywhere in Kyoto.

My K House was very cozy and comfortable. The room was Japanese style with tatami mats and floor seating with low table and cushions. Perfect for 2 people, plenty of space for luggage. Bathroom was spacious with separate toilet, shower/bath, and sink areas. Location was convenient enough. Close to Gion and downtown shopping area. About 20 min walk to Yasaka pagoda, Sannenzaka/Ninenzaka, and a little further to Kiyomizu-dera. Kyoto attractions are spaced out so you have to pick which attractions you want to stay near and take transportation to the others. Alex was very kind and helpful during check-in.

Only nitty gritty stuff: there was draft/wind noise coming from the balkony door. However, it did not affect the temperature. In addition and maybe as a result of this the sound isolation from this direction towards the crowded street was not the best either.

Everything! We loved the room, it is spacious, clean, traditional combined with modern style, has complete amenities plus the kitchen stuff and washing machine. They have no staff in the property, but all went well so we didn't need further assistance. The staff, when we checked in, was nice and informative, he speaks English well (he's from Romania). The location is not bad at all, not in Gion district but close to, walking distance, as well as to Nishiki market. And the bus stop is just around the corner.

One night, my wife was awakened by revelers passing by the hotel, but apart from that, the room was quiet. We found that the kitchen could use a few more kitchen utensils to be even more practical.

To obtain our room at My K House, we first came to the desk at the Kyoto Riverview House Kyoraku where the very friendly staff member checked us in and led us the 150 m to our room. Since we were staying in Kyoto for 6 nights, we found the kitchette quite useful to help us prepare some of our meals. There is a table in the room, but its height is as per Japanese custom. The bed was comfortable and the room well equipped. The hotel is well located, near a variety of restaurants and about a 10 min walk or less to a couple of subway stations. The nearest bus stop permits very handy access to the JR train station.

There is no staff in the facility!! No reception. We arrived at noon and the cleaning lady was there. She was sweet but clueless. I simply needed a universal plug and a mug for coffee. Communication has to be done with a sister hotel reception three minutes walk from the property!! The staff in that hotel were very friendly and sweet. But, some had language limitations! I had to send my luggage to my next destination through 7/11 because they could not take my luggage before 9am!! I did not understand why should I wait in a reception of a sister hotel till 9am for my luggage to be sent! Luckily 7/11 solved the issue otherwise I would have missed my train. One last point to be noted. There’s no coffee provided in the kitchenette of the room. Only green tea. If you are a coffee lover, bring your coffee and mug.

I loved the room, the amenities, the thoughtful details. The location is perfect in a quiet street yet walking distance to temples, shopping and restaurants. It is also very close to Kyoto station which made it easy to travel to/from. 7/11 around the corner. For sports lovers, the river is around the corner for jogging, meditating or simply unwinding.

It’s quite a distance from Kyoto Station. Nearest station is Kiyomizugojo, but we got it sorted out.

Love everything about it! The balcony, the rooms, the tatami mats, the bathroom, the location to Kamo River - which is a great stroll down during autumn. It’s a peaceful and quiet location, nearby halal places to patron. We really enjoyed our stay.

Location was perfect. Right on the River, easy to access shopping areas + nishiki market or walk over to Gion and destinations like Kiyomizu-dera and Kodai-ji. From our room’s balcony we could see pieces of Kiyomizu-dera and the Ryōzen Kannon. Beautiful and spacious room
