Cozy hotel in a good location. Lots of buses and a metro line nearby that we took to explore Kyoto. The hotel had a nice breakfast buffet. They also provided excellent hygiene products to their guests.

SingaporeAir-conditioner noise - My family found some issues with the relatively loud air-conditioner/heater in our room, while it was alright for me as I am not a light sleeper! Some earbuds might help if you are a light sleeper! Security - the lift from the first floor was able to access the hotel room floors without a room key card, which was slightly worrying but the neighbourhood seems relatively safe and we were only staying for a few days, especially since we were staying as a group, so it wasn't too big a concern for us. NOTE! There is an additional accommodation tax per pax for each night, which added up to 1200 yen for my stay of 2 nights for 3 people. Not a big issue but just a note.
Booked a Standard Triple Room - Non-Smoking - No Daily Cleaning Spacious enough for my family and me to sleep in, sufficient space to sit around for meals and lay out luggage as well Great location - there were a couple of supermarts/convenience stores around us such as Fresco and Life, both of which provided a great variety of groceries and food, such that we didn't even need to eat out as there was a microwave on the hotel premises that we can use! (And the microwave is clean and well-maintained!) There are several metro stations (e.g. Karasuma Station) and bus stops nearby, pretty accessible but was a hassle to lug our luggage for that distance. A 15-min walk to Nishiki Market and plenty of nice restaurants around, there's even one right on the first floor of the hotel (but we didn't get to try as it seemed pricey). Free drinks from around 6am to 9pm - you can take these drinks away for the day and they actually taste pretty good, a much-appreciated service provided by Hotel Mystays🙏🏻 Staff - The check-in and check-out process was smooth, the staff are friendly and proficient enough in English for easy communication! They also allowed us to store our luggage for a couple of hours even after we've checked out which I greatly appreciate! Self-service necessities drawer on level 2 - The staff pointed out that we were able to collect some necessities such as combs, shavers, cotton kits etc. in the drawer next to the lift on level 2, which I thought was a brilliant move as guests can simply take what they need - less waste. Room temperature - We were worried about the room's temperature initially as the hotel mentioned that they use central heating and it won't be possible to adjust the temperatures ourselves, but the room was of a comfortable temperature and we had no issues with that.
