Very nice traditional ryokan with public bath and family bath. We had a private bath in our room, which we enjoyed a lot. Beds were comfortable, food was very nice. Other onsen can be visited in walking distance.

Room was facing the car park. But fortunately, not noisy. The onsen rooms are dark. Needs updating cos it looked worn out. There was so little to no hot water for shower.

Location is good enough. The pick up/ drop off from and to bus stop was convenient. The ryokan contacted me about food restrictions a few weeks before our arrival. A nice gesture. Quaint Traditional ryokan.

we hoped we would see the surrounding nature from our room and from the outdoor baths but the view is a bit obstructed by building roofs. also the dining room lacks charm it is a very impersonal one which is quite disappointing

the Ryokan Nanjoen is a good option to experience Kurokawa Onsen. It is an old building and it’s not too big. the location is convenient to walk across Kurokawa however it’s not directly next to the river hence the view from the outdoor baths is on building roofs more than nature.

Room and accommodation is not suitable for people who has walking problem as they have steps in many part of the property.

Onsen in room. They also provide family onsen room for those who don’t book the room without onsen and want to have privacy for bathing. Family onsen is allowed to use on first come first serve. The property is located in the center of Kurokawa Onsen being surrounded by many shops and restaurants.

Cozy, quiet, great location with Mountain View and in the middle of Kurokawa onsen. Staffs are very helpful eventhough limited English speaking. The unit with private onsen bath is v convenience for family with senior.

The room was lovely, large tatami room with a table and chairs by a hand he window with a view of the mountains. The bath was well appointed and serene with a nice open air bath area. The dinner and breakfast were just delicious. Highly recommend!

The entrance to our room smelled a bit smoky but was not too bad.

The onsen experience was traditional and exceptional. The views were gorgeous and the neighboring area is beautiful and relaxing to walk around day and night. The hosts were warm and welcoming, we had a really good time!

Gorgeous property, a bit tricky to find in the dark as we arrived late. Staff didn’t speak English but went above and beyond to explain and demonstrate everything with gestures and Google translate. Meals were simply wonderful and private onsen for two was divine. Beautiful region, gorgeous autumn colours

Gorgeous traditional ryokan, with beautifully appointed rooms—we had one of the en-suite onsen baths, and I highly recommend it! The dinners and breakfasts were sumptuous and almost too much food, all very delicious. The staff is friendly, impeccable, and very helpful. The area itself is also lovely, with plenty of shops and nearby onsens to explore.

There's no convenient store in the kurokawa area. The roads are super narrow. Fun.

The dinner and the breakfast are fantastic. Nice staff and helpful. Room has a indoor hot spring bath in which can observe the sunset.

Very nice atmosphere and service here. The lobby, dining area and rooms, everywhere is so clean, the hot springs as well. Even we don’t speak Japanese, they still tried hard to explain every dishes of our dinner.

There's pick-up service from the nearby bus station. The service is very good, they even helped to keep your shoes. The view from the room is very nice, and the room is spacious and comfortable.
