Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hong KongA great hotel. The staff were wonderful, the common areas and bedroom were spotlessly clean, the bedroom was extremely spacious and had everything one could need. The ski and boot room was very conveniently located. Great set breakfast with a good variety provided during the week I was there. One of the standouts was the indoor and outdoor hot baths, so relaxing after a day’s skiing. I will definitely be back. Location was very good for Hirafu.

AustraliaI did wish that there were more washing machines and dryers. But that's not a big minus for me.
The hotel was wonderful and exactly as described. It was perfectly located away from the crowds of the ski resort but also not too far. It was only about a 5 minutes drive away. There was also a shuttle bus for those who did not rent a car. The was many good facilities provided including washing machines/dryers and the public bath which was a great way to relax and recovery after a long day of skiing.

Hong KongBe prepared for a few steps if you get a first floor room but hey most people are here for ski so consider it a warm up.
Second time we’ve stayed here. I like the clean minimal style. Breakfast is great and well presented.

JapanThere’s nothing that I didn’t like, but if there’s just one thing then the location was a tiny bit inconvenient as it’s not walkable to the centre of Hirafu where the shops and the slopes are. However the free and relatively frequent shuttle bus service fixes this.
The room was so comfortable, clean and spacious with an amazing view of mount Yotei! The amenities were also top notch. The breakfast was amazing and changed every day, alternating between Japanese and Western style. It was so abundant and perfect to prepare for a full day of skiing! The hot springs were also amazing, there’s an indoor and outdoor one too (sometimes in other hotels they don’t have outdoor baths for women but this one does and it’s so amazing and relaxing). I was there in late March so it was very quiet and basically had the hot springs too myself! But the best part was the staff: they are so attentive! I’m so grateful to the receptionists who arranged free shuttle bus pick ups during the first and last day. Thank you so much!

ItalyIt is really a bit far away from the slopes. Even though they offer a free shuttle, it doesn’t run consistently throughout the day so you’re still bound to their timetable. We considered walking to the centre but there is no sidewalk. This was really the only little downside.
We liked so many things about this place: The room was spacious and very clean. We had a wonderful view of Mt Yotei. Hotel has a public onsen which was never occupied when we went there. The breakfast was top notch: i don’t understand people complaining about the food not being appropriate for western people. You are visiting another country, why would you want to eat the very same food you eat at home? It was beautifully composed and nearly all of it was also really delicious. There is a free shuttle to the slopes and back to the hotel.

SingaporeIt was a little far out from the ski base. we didn’t drive so we had to depend on the shuttle buses, that weren’t as regular as we had hoped.
It is gorgeous. The lodge we booked was beautiful and large for the four of us. There was a snow field right before our lodge that we could play on. There was a well-equipped kitchen and the amenities were great.

New ZealandThe property is out of grand hirafu, but we knew that booking so we didn’t mind. The hotel shuttle service runs pretty regularly so it’s still very easy to get to the mountain and also into town for restaurants and bars.
The rooms were super spacious and very well organised, with everything you need. The breakfast is good. The onsen is great for after a long day of skiing. And the setting is beautiful!

New ZealandNothing! Loved it there.
We loved everything about Miru Niseko. Our room was fabulous - we were there for a week and so we so appreciated the extra room and being able to relax in apartment style. The room had everything we needed. Breakfasts in the hotel were wonderful - lovely to have fresh fruit and a great range to choose from in the buffet. Being out of the main Grand Hirafu area was not a problem - the local shuttles were frequent and the Miru Niseko shuttle timetable was great. Most of all … the staff were fabulous, so very friendly and helpful. They are wonderful.

ThailandThis property is a bit far from the ski areas and restaurants. They do have a shuttle service, but the hours are limited in the evening when you are trying to go to dinner, and you have to wait outside for the shuttle which is very cold in the winter! It would have been a lot easier just to stay at one of the resorts or hotels in town.
Beautiful property, EXCELLENT customer service, helpful with pick-up/drop-off/shuttle to town and ski hills, delicious breakfast, lovely rooms.

New ZealandThe reception staff seemed to only offer 1 option for things such as a cheap dinner, travel back to New Chitose. It felt like there might be kickbacks being taken or a relationship with the providers that were suggested.
Breakfast was great. Lots of variety but from a Westeners perspective an odd variety with fish and soup. No pancakes or waffles to be seen and only 1 variety of granola and yoghurt. Onsen was beautiful to be in during the snow storm Our room was a great size and I loved that there was a decade coffee pd. Thanks heaps for that.

TaiwanMiru is a 6-10 minutes drive from Niseko centre and ski lifts. Niseko Village is approximately same driving time in the opposite direction. The shuttle is there, but if you drive, parking in Niseko is sometimes a struggle. Avoid the rooms next to the laundry. Even if the operating time is 7 to 22. You don't want to be woken up by the washing machine.
Very nice facility. Room sizes are realtively large for Japan standard and equipped with Kettle, microwave, plates and cuttelry to allow you to eat in the room on some occasions. If you are layzy, the restaurant has a nice menu. You will love the relaxing Pnsen after a long day of ski. A free shuttle drives you to Niseko centre and brings you back.
