The price was high for what it was. We have stayed in many Nikko hotels all over the world and was disappointed by the lack of hospitality. The cafe shut at 8:00 p.m. and the next morning we went down for breakfast and discovered that there was no service yet the signs all over the hotel says "ALL day dining".

It was in a very handy location. The room was not that large but ok.

I developed severe nose congestion. I booked a smoking room by mistake and the staff were very not helpful, they expressed they were fully booked and hence they weren’t able to get me into a non-smoking one. However they didn’t recommend other measures. smoking room smelled terribly like cigarettes you couldn’t actually breath normally throughout and you can’t open the window. when I opened the ventilation despite being already dirty it was emitted cigarettes odour. the rooms are very old and hotel is not that good.

Regular rooms are “ancient” although they are large enough. The photos did show the subtle differences of regular rooms and the superior rooms (re-modeled) if one looks closely. There were mildews and molds in the bathroom which were unacceptable. The bathroom also smells because of poor ventilation. I was actually a bit surprised that this happened in a hotel this level. I don’t mind the room is a bit outdated, but at least clean and sanitize it properly.

toilets. a bit old fashioned. prefer washlet with remote on wall. also for a person with any disabilities might have trouble with the shower in the bathtub. The top of tub was above my knees. I have some slight mobility problems and it was hard to step over and into the tub to take a shower.

It felt like going back in time, age is showing, our non smoking room smelled like smoke, they moved us after complaining but still, onsen was at an extra cost, which is a shame compared to the other great hotels in japan

Could not adjust the room temperature. The direction was that if you don't like it, turn it off. The mirror in the bath room had the black spot which could not be wiped. The single room does not face the famous Himeji castle. It should be mentioned in the reservation website. The toilet seat does not fit the size of the toilet bowl. The shower head was not automatically set the temperature, i.e. cold and hot must be adjusted by you.

The location is very close to the Himeji JR station (south side).

Staff are just wonderful, they upgraded me because it was my birthday to a room with Castle views. Just stunning. Location is absolutely great, steps from the station.

The hotel is on the older side, but with what we paid, I am okay with that. The hallway was a bit dark too. Because of how old the rooms are, it was very hard to find places to charge our devices. I couldn't find any plugs..?

The location is truly wonderful. It is literally across the street from the Himeji Station. Easy access if you arrive by JR/Shinkansen. Also not far from the Himeji Castle and many shopping malls and restaurants. My room had a nice view into the train station - if you like train watching, this is a wonderful location. Paid sauna, pool, and Japanese bathhouse - I didn't go but went to see it. If I stayed for more than one night, I would actually go use them. Looked pretty nice.

Although I requested non smoking room, the room still smelt like smoke. Room key was still an old fashion key with room number tag attached. Whole building felt a bit run down.

Accommodation very dated. Hallways had musty smell. Only one power point in the room - problematic for IT or health equipment like CPAP. Air conditioning could not cool below 25C - problematic under heat wave conditions as room was uncomfortable.

Nothing. Perhaps given me the Saturday edition of the Japan Times (actually it is the weekend edition!) instead of the Sunday edition of a Japanese newspaper I could not read. But what of it? I had a deadline to meet, so I had no business procrastinating with a newspaper anyway, complimentary or otherwise. Oh, and I wish there had been complimentary coffee somewhere in the morning. I would have hugged a desk clerk had that happened.

The breakfast is stupendous. Everyone should experience it at least once. There is something for everybody, East and West. The front desk kindly tried to give me a Japanese newspaper, even though I could not read it. I had a deadline to meet, so essentially, I used the room as an office. I could not have chosen a better location. For breaks, a walk around the town was just what the doctor ordered.

we were too early for the check in. and when coming back their were no more non-smoking room. the hallway looks like a death row and the facilities were old and over used.

The Onsen additional fee of 1100 Yen per person is totally unreasonable and would deter us staying here again 😕

We liked the room facilities however we’re dissatisfied with the fact that we were expected to pay more than 1000 yen each to take the onsen bath facilities 🤔
