Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesRyo was an amazing host. He shuttled us to the mountain every day and was a great help. Although the property is so conveniently close to the train station, my friend and I still managed to almost miss our train to Sapporo… Ryo saved the day and drove us to the train station, carried both of our massive luggage bags up to the ticket booth, and helped us buy tickets just in time!

United States- Property is a 5 minute walk from kutchan Station, 3 minute walk from a supermarket, so you can cook and prepare food as you like. - The views around the property are gorgeous. - There is also a free shuttle every morning to the slopes. - The place is clean and has a homey vibe. - manager Ryo-san is an asset to this place, he is an expert on the area and a great host. I highly recommend this place to anyone who comes to niseko/kutchan, whatever the season.

AustraliaNot much! Shame there's not an onsen in Kutchan, that'd be my only minor quibble - but out of Ryo's hands
Ryo is the owner of Tabi-tsumugi inn. He is the best of the best, a top shelf human, a host who's; warm, friendly, helpful, generous, kind, and funny. Located a short walk from the JR Train Station in Kutchan, Tabi-tsumugi offers spacious tatami bunk rooms as well as family and couple rooms. With a well equipped communal kitchen it's small, friendly and fun. Great mix of Japanese and international guests. I cannot rate it highly enough, if you're planning a trip to ski, in and around the Niseko area, put this on the top of your list. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 👍👍

Ryo, the owner is a top-shelf human; great host, attention to detail, authentic, super helpful, and friendly.

New ZealandWe had an amazing stay here. Riyo is a great host and went out of his way for us multiple times. Pick ups from the train station and morning shuttles to Mt Hirafu made things so easy. The dorm rooms are the most spacious I have had and they are super private and warm. The common areas are clean and inviting. You feel at home the moment you walk in. The kitchen has everything you need and the effort Riyo puts in for cleanliness doesn't go unnoticed. Highly recommend this place.

United KingdomWe stayed here to hike Mt. Yotei. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He dropped us off at the trail head at 0500 so we could start the walk early. The whole place was very clean, and the communal kitchen was spacious and well-stocked. It was a short walk to the train station and shops. If you're in Kutchan stay here. You won't regret it.

DenmarkFully equipped kitchen, big beds, close to a big supermarket, and the effort that the host Ryo puts into the job is amazing. He will drive you everywhere and recommend hikes in the local area. The best recommendation you can get as a host has to be that the customers come back, and I've already been there twice on my trip around Japan :)

Singapore1. Couldn't ask for a better host than Ryo-san. He drives us to ski resort at 8am and 9am slots. When time permits, went out of his way to drive us to local onsen, hosts hotpot dinner and drives us to the train station. 2. Property is clean and comfortable. Best of all, you get to see the million-dollar view of the mountain from the common area. 3. Location is great, walking distance from Kutchan station, near supermarket that pretty much has everything at affordable price. Walking distance to food places. Can also take the local bus from Kutchan station to ski resort. Personal preference, I would rather stay in Kutchan than the overtly priced, touristy Niseko/Hirafu village. 4. Last of all, it's the other guests that makes the place even more welcoming. Truly enjoyed my stay because of the people I've met, sharing interest in snowboarding/skiing. Guests recounted their day, shared advice, looked out for each other and have dinner together. You get to speak with guests from all around the world and learn about their culture and lives. 5. Great stay and experience for solo traveller.
