Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThe washer needs to have English instructions. It take 3hr to wash clothes and the clothes didn't get to dry completely. I believe I don't know how to operate the washer with proper instructions:)

The hotel is opposite a bus terminal, tourist information centre and about 10min walk to Jigokudani (Hell Valley). Near scenic Oyunuma. Eateries, shops & convenient stores along the road in front of the hotel. The hotel offers a good breakfast and dinner buffet in its big restaurant. The onsen facilities are good and well maintained.

FranceThis hotel is just like the whole city: hideous. Feels like China with these awful buildings, super large hotels, giant breakfast room. You're coming for one thing and none other: the onsen.
The onsen is a real one and that's the main (if only one) asset to that place. There are 2 of them actually: a larger one inside and a smaller one outside. The lattest had my preference of course because the feeling of the small wind when you're in a very hot water is like no other...

JapanThis might just be personal preference because I have bad back, but the futon bed and pillow were way too hard for me. It was difficult to fall asleep. Also, I was expecting the bath to be a bit bigger, but this is really not a big issue.
The food was excellent and plentiful, the bath was nice, and the staff were extremely helpful. We met our friend in Noboribetsu by chance, and we asked the staff if it would be ok for our friend to join us for dinner and a bath. Even though the hotel was not open for visitors (only overnight guests could use it), they went out of their way to accommodate us and let our friend join us for a really minimal fee. Thank you very much, kind Manseikaku staff!

JapanReally enjoyed it here, my only complaint would be that the heat setting in the room was either off or dry mouth-inducing inferno. This is probably the best value you'll find in Noboribetsu though!
The onsen was fantastic, the water quality felt so good. The outside area was super relaxing. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal. The location is fantastic, right next to the bus stop and it's a nice walk through town to get to Jigokudani.

MalaysiaBut The staff at the buffet is very rude and unreasonable, the reason being they don’t let people to take more food with plate. But the next customer which is Japanese they were ok with it. The buffet dinner was very DISAPPOINTING.
The staff was very friendly, they solve our problem very quickly and swiftly.

SingaporeThe room was very dated, and shower is old. No rain shower in the bathroom. Corridors look dated as well. No aircon to adjust so we had to open the windows a little to let the cold air in.
It is located opposite the bus station, so convenient for people arriving on the bus or would like to take the bus to the valley. The public onsen was okay.

JapanBreakfast ends really early, you have to keep that in mind. Also staff was very annoying with closing time, they told me the same sentence about closing personally around 4 times while i was there (even before time ran out). Also you have to take the bus to the location of the hotel, which was really crowded and sometimes delayed, so be careful not to miss your scheduled ride after it
Onsen for sure. Also that may be by chance, but we got a really good room for 2 of us. Lots of space, japanese-style, great view, 9th floor. I forgot to bring my swimsuit so couldn't check the swimming pool, but the fact they have it already speaks much. Breakfast was good, i enjoyed it.

ThailandStaff who is able to speak English fluently should be recruited.
The hotel location is the best for those coming to this place by train and local bus. After check out at Noboribetsu train station, there is a bus ticket machine. A single trip ticket is priced at ¥350, while a round trip ticket is priced at ¥640 which is not required to be used within the same day. (The date described on the ticket is merely the date of issuance.) If you don't want to buy a ticket from the machine, you will have to pay by cash directly to the driver at the arrival. You take a bus (called "Donan Bus") to Noboribetsu Onsen which is a big station and also a terminal station for many buses. The hotel is opposite the bus station. You just walk across the road. The hotel locates in a walking distance to Jigokudani (Hell Valley) and the entrance of Noboribetsu Bear Park. Once you leave the hotel, you can use the same direction for finding the way back to Noboribetsu train station. To sum up, it is very easy to find this hotel.

SlovakiaThe old dark hotel has seen good times for at least 30 years and would need a complete renovation. The town is incredibly ugly, restaurants at a low level. Next time I won't stay here overnight, but I will return to Sapporo.
I did not find any positives about the accommodation. But Hell Valley was awesome.

ThailandI live in room 1053, there is machine noise 24 hours a day, and there is a strong smell of kitchen fumes entering the room after 5:00 every morning. I asked to change the room, but I was moved to 753 on the lower floor of the same room. I thought there would still be the same problem, so I didn't change. All in all, the room is uncomfortable
