Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainA lot of group and conference activities. There were many groups from high school (Okinawa is a popular destination for school trips in Japan) running and shouting on the corridors, some of them were jumping with clothes in the outdoor jacuzzi and swimming pool at night. Parking was charged on a daily basis while in other places in the island is not the case. We were surprised of having a window connecting the toilet and the bedroom. Convenience store staff was definitely burnt out.
If you're traveling Okinawa by car, it is a convenient place to stay in Naha since major roads are close by. Views from the room were great, semi-double twin beds were comfortable. Staff was correct and rooms were clean.

BahamasNot being able to make local calls from my room was disappointing. The bed could've been one king size bed instead of to 2 twin size beds joined together. The room had a slight odor, don't know if it was the carpet or because the ac was off upon entering the room. Room service would've been nice to have. It would've been nice if the hotel had sent me a happy birthday card in my room seeing that my purpose of being there was to celebrate my birthday. Some acknowledgment would've made me feel special as other hotels normally do and seeing that it was my 1st time there.
Breakfast was very good. Lots of local food and variety of food and beverages. The location was ideal for nearby historic places. The room was cleaned and amenities replaces every day once I wasn't in the room. The staff were very helpful and polite.

United StatesThe first room I originally booked was sad. It was very small and smelled funny. So I decided to upgrade my room . Once I got to the upgraded room it was so much better, but My view was terrible. Also I got a deluxe room but it didn’t come with breakfast which was a bummer. Also $50 for parking ?? The pool area was nice, kinda small . Also the smell after you come back to the rooms are terrible as well. Our volume on our tv was really low and the beds were so far from the tv so I couldn’t really hear the tv so we just turned it off.
I appreciate the staff that works inside and outside . They were very friendly and helpful. I also loved the Family Mart in the hotel . It was very convenient. Also I loved that there was a money converter and an ATM near the family mart. If you are coming from the airport with no rental car I highly recommend the bus. It’s only 240 in yen and it takes you right across from the hotel.

United StatesConsidering the hotel’s star rating and cost per night, an additional parking cost – especially at ¥1,000/day – is unreasonable. Rooms are not soundproof, so easily disturbed by loud children/guests. Room service is listed as an available service (a key factor in decision to book hotel), but was told the opposite upon check-in.
Booked stay at Novotel Okinawa Naha for 2 nights in Feb 2022. My noteworthy takeaways are: Check-in: Pre-pay stay at check in vs. check out. Location: Somewhat convenient. Located relatively close to downtown Naha (Kokusai-dori) but not walking friendly. Personal transportation is needed, or taxi. There is a Family Mart convenience store located in the hotel’s lobby, as well. Appearance/Staff Impressions: Modern appearance. Polite and welcoming staff, that were very accommodating. Hotel approved my date change after checking without issue, and promptly refunded the cost difference. Security: Elevator access is NOT key card restricted; however, key card only access for certain areas such as gym. Standard security latch on guest room door as well as standard deadbolt lock. Keypad safe in guest room. Hotel Facilities (that I personally visited/utilized): Free Wifi, Family Mart, restaurants/bar, terrace, outdoor pool (closed for winter), on-site parking (¥1,000/day). Room: Deluxe Twin Room. At time of booking, I requested an upper floor room that was city facing. I also requested a room equipped with a TV that had HDMI input capability. Both request were honored, however, the latter was misunderstood and an HDMI cable was provided (not needed, but was appreciated). Room was clean at first glance, but better care is needed in some overlooked areas. Small but not overly. Mattresses were on the firm side. The room’s heating/cooling system is independently guest controlled via digital thermostat within the room. The room housed a separate toilet room, as well as a shower room w/ bathtub. Unfortunately, the room was NOT soundproof as we could hear the goings and comings of the hallway very clearly.

JapanThe hotel seems very clean but once you go up to room floor the entire hallway smelled unpleasant. The room itself had the same smell and I had to leave the small window open all day. It got better or I got used to it after 2nd day but the hallway smelled so weird like an old hospital… Breakfast was way over priced for the selection.
The hotel is well maintained and everything kept clean. The swimming pool was nice overlooking the city. Everyone working there was very nice. having a convenience store inside was very helpful too.
