Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe hotel is quite old but well maintained and very clean. Very well located. English speaking staff was very helpful in renting snorkeling gear and recommending dive shops. After the check out we could still use the facilities- take a shower after the day at the beach before boarding the ferry.

United KingdomRooms slightly dated and expensive for Japan but seems about the price for the island.
The staff were exceptional! Location is ideal for both main beaches and free shuttles from hotel too. Rooms are large and have everything you need.

AustriaWe had a room with a balcony facing the south on the first floor. The view was disappointing because land in front looked like a garbage dumping spot. The Balkony was only useful for hanging up cloth. The breakfast is nothing special and is and extra for 1000 yen
We had a great stay, maybe we get the chance to visit again. Since the island is really beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. With more complicated requests it's easyer to use an translation app. There is cold water(always) . Coffee and Tea (not at nighttime) for free. A really big comfort is the beach shuttle that going to the two most popular beaches at specific times directly operated from the hotel. In specific to furuzamami beach it is really nice since you would need to walk up the hill(sometimes without a walkway) To Ama beach it is easyer to walk to (watch the sunset from there. It's beautiful) With a international driver license you can use the small two-people electro cars (additional charge) or e-bikes (also additional charge) Thank you for the stay

FinlandBreakfast wasn’t very tasty and there was very few options to choose from. Every other day they serve Japanese breakfast and every other western style breakfast. Overall facilities are also quite old (but everything is clean and working) and that’s why price is quite high compared to value.
Extremely helpful and nice staff. Location is central and easily accessible (the village is also super small). Customers are also able to rent electric bikes which is super nice.

DenmarkBreakfast was very bad for the price and out of main living room and front desk, the lace is more like a backpacker hostel quite expensive for the type of facilities.
Very helpful staff and good enough facilities, close to all interesting beaches, little cafés and lookouts. This is a fantastic island, perfect getaway to many other gorgeous islands. Their EVs are a great plus.

United KingdomStaff were very friendly and helpful. Tsukasa and Kumar both made sure that everything was taken care of and they would arrange car pick-ups to the beaches, and also the ferry, as we had luggage to carry. The hotel is in a good quiet location, but still very close to the ferry and bars and restaurants. The lovely Furuzamami Beach is 15mins walk away. We had a big spacious clean room with a small balcony and en-suite bathroom at the hotel.

United Statesbreakfast options were limited to what they decided to serve. one day was more of a Americanized meal (eggs, toast, rice, bacon, soup), while the second day we were given a more traditional Japanese style breakfast (with fish, rice, soup, cold veggies). I do wish the type of breakfast could have been a choice as I don’t eat fish, so the meal was mostly waisted.
This property is located on Zamami near the port. It was roughly a 20 min walk to Ama Beach, but the hotel does also offer a shuttle to and from the beaches as well as small electric cars to be rented (discounted rates for guests). Ama beach had several sea turtles in the morning (before 11am) during high tide.

SwedenSome facilities felt a bit outdated or needing a general renewal, like the bathrooms and some common areas.
Oceana Portvillage Zamami was a nice place to stay! The hotel is close to many places to eat, the supermarket and has a lot of support facilities (renting snorkel equipment, a bike, activities, etc.) The staff was very useful and helpful! In the morning you may chill in the common area and have a coffee. Rooms were as in pictures and better than other options we found in Zamami village.

United Stateslook this hotel is not 5 stars - it's a small room with with small beds and the balconies could use a paint job. but as long as you go in expecting this, you will be delighted. Just be aware that Zamami is small and manage your expectations wrt the facilities and this experience will be amazing.
Amazing location with friendly hosts and extra support that made us feel welcome. Zamami is a gorgeous location - from what i have seen far superior beaches to anything on Naha. This hotel is convenient to the top beach and the turtle beach, as well as right next to a great dinner spot. We visited both beaches and had convenient free shuttle service. Didnt have to book any of that in advance the team just jumped in to help us and our children. As a bonus, breakfast service was great and even though it was Japanese breakfast day (they alternate w Western), the chef made a special meal for my kids free of charge. Extreme value for money and very pleasant stay. would recommend to anyone.

Japan- it would be good to have more choice from the restaurant for dinner if you don’t want to go out (but I guess this might be due to the corona-related problems)
- the attention of the staff - large and comfortable rooms - the outdoor patio - the shuttle service to/from the beaches - the nespresso coffee available in the hall

JapanIt’s not the property, they are working hard to provide a clean, safe and fun environment. The island of Zamami is just very desolate right now, only few businesses open and some wouldn’t provide service because they did not have bilingual staff?!?!?… We recommend Oceana Portvillage, they will work hard for you to enjoy your time.
Staff went out of their way to provide great hospitality. These are difficult times and businesses are doing all they can to stay alive. This team worked hard to earn our business and recommendation.
