The rooms were very comfy and the twin was spacious enough, but the double would have been tight with two big suitcases to open up!

We loved the comfortable futon style beds, the friendly staff and the private onsen you could hire, one for a single person and one for a couple.

Non-english speaking staff: They made it clear in the hotel page, so it wasn't a surprise. Fortunately, I went with a friend who spoke Japanese and we somehow managed, it would have been really difficult otherwise since the staff has the tendency to ignore you if you don't speak Japanese. Bed: The pillow was too hard and uncomfortable. I stayed 2 nights and had an unrestful sleep for both.

Location: There are plenty of restaurants and convenient stores around. A bus stop to Rurikoji temple and other attractions nearby. Onsen: Really nice. My skin felt smooth and shiny after the bath.

Onsen was on a separate building, was slightly cold during my stay and unable to wear just yukata over.

The hotel was a short walk from Yuda Onsen Station. Check in was a breeze (the staff were patient with my lack of Japanese and communicated capably in English) and the room was modern and spotlessly clean. My partner and I enjoyed the private onsen room (¥3500/hr in Mar 2024). Breakfast in the hotel’s adjoining restaurant was delicious with a generous and varied buffet spread.

The location was excellent. It was very near many food outlets and convenience stores. We had children travelling with us so the parks nearby were great for children to run around. And we had snow during the 3-day stay at Yamaguchi.

It is quite a new hotel. Although the hotel is considered as quite a decent size for a Japan hotel. Breakfast spread is good and facilities are well maintained. As there were many guests in the hotel, the onsen is quite crowded.

Some rooms are truly tiny

The double room with bath is amazing, spacious, new and beautiful. The twin room is truly small, but if you like hot springs, it's worth the money.

The room is tiny and other than that we are fine with our choice.

Although the hot spring and meals are both offered by the hotel next door and the car park is a public one in the next building, it does not cause much trouble to us. The room is tiny but is clean and functional for a couple that stay just one night. The breakfast is good and in general value for money.

Kazoku onsen was on the expensive side (3,500Y per visit) and only four slots for each of the two baths each day. Not a wide range of western options at the breakfast buffet. Whilst it's not too far from the station (~650m) the roads are a little rough to drag luggage over. On-site laundry facilities (paid or not) would be a welcome addition (there is a coin laundry about 500m from the hotel).

Good size room with a good size bathroom. Comfortable with on-site kazoku onsen. Many nearby dining options. Nice view from the room windows. Staff were friendly and attentive. Many Japanese breakfast options for the breakfast buffet.

The room is too small, not big enough to open a suitcase. Additionally, the bedsheet is not large enough to cover the mattress. The bedsheet rolled up, making it uncomfortable to sleep.

Modern, new, clean and tidy. Onsen is very good. The location is good with many good restaurants around.

The room was cramped, especially considering the price. The bathroom was hard to move around in because all the floor space was consumed by the toilet. The room amenities weren't particularly impressive; towels were small and rough. The airconditioning drip tray emptied out of a small tap near the floor of the shower when it could have just been plumbed in. In the morning, housekeeping had made piles of trash and dirty laundry in the hallway, which I've never seen a hotel do before The onsen is only open until midnight and then only available from 6 to 9 (checkout is at 11). Breakfast finishes at 9am, so if you're a late riser you're SOL. This was one of the most expensive rooms we stayed in during our trip and was priced significantly higher than business hotels in Yamaguchi for the same time.... But the overall size of the room and quality of the experience didn't seem any bigger or better than those would have been.
