Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLocation perfect next to market. Onsen and breakfast amazing. Rated as one of the best places to stay ever in our travels. Free ice blocks and supper noodles are a nice touch.

New ZealandTook a while to.figure out all the light switches in the room! It's very obvious once you are there that anyone with tattoos is not welcome in the onsen, but not really stated on the booking.com listing. Please bear this in mind when booking.
Great location, close to everything kanazawa has to offer. This hotel is a blend of a sleek hotel and authentic ryokan tradition, so no shoes in the hotel, etc. Our room was pretty reasonably sized for japan standards, quiet and cool.

the onsen is fantastic, the facilities and the hotel rooms were really great! the hotel staff were helpful to the people having small tattoos to cover them up to use in the onsen.

NetherlandsNothing at all.
The cleanlinesses, how everything was furnished, the room, the amenities (onsen, manga room) the breakfast and the price point.I really liked that even if there we’re plenty of people, it didn’t feel like it.

SingaporeThe only downside of the stay is the quality of Wi-Fi, if you need it extensively. There were a few work calls with video when speed wasn’t enough sometimes. It’s ok for casual browsing though. Also note that the chair has to back support, should you need to work for a long time it might be difficult.
When we travel in Japan I always check if there is Onyado Nono hotel in that city we go to. Outdoor onsen and buffet breakfast with seafood is hard to beat. This one is also located nicely, very close to the temple, castle and garden.

NetherlandsIt's not a complaint at all, but this is like a "formula" ryokan. It didn't really feel like a ryokan, though it does have the appearance, bedroom, onsen, etcetera. But it felt more like a ryokan style formula hotel. Again, no complaint, just not what we had expected based on what we had read and seen on the booking.com site.
Decent hotel, masquerading as ryokan. Staff nice and helpful. Onsen very nice. Breakfast very enjoyable. Location excellent.

CanadaFor me it was only a great experience. I would have stay longer.
This place was a complete experience! when you arrive you need to put your shoes in a locker and a kind staff will clean the bottom of your suitcase so you can roll on the ground of the hotel. Our room was bigger that I expected and the pillow was a great size too. What I prefer was the Onsen at the top! with the manga and the free ice cream. after 21:30 they offer free half size soba and it was delicious and perfect after a onsen. it was close to a fish market too so we could easily walk to the place we wanted to visit. really loved the hair product.

United StatesIt was a decent 15-20 minute walk, which isn’t too negative but is a bit tedious when trying to use the main train station.
Very “Japanese” tourist experience, where you take off your shoes & clean the wheels of your suitcase at the entrance of the hotel. Very friendly staff, and a small but beautiful room. There was also an onsen on the top floor of the building, that was available every night.

United KingdomMy first onsen experience and Onyado Nono made it all the more special, going around in my bath robe to dinner and the top floor onsen! Food was buffet style traditional Japanese with a salad bar for breakfast, free late night noodle bar and some great freebies waiting for you in the room and after you take a bath!

United KingdomThe following is really not a big deal, more just a suggestion- the hotel could do with a bit more variety in the background music! The onsen particularly seemed to only have two songs rotating.
Onsen was clean and lovely, and the rooms were great. The breakfast is delicious with a lot of variety and perks like the free ramen and the manga reading room are really cool. Very professional place suitable for travellers or business trips.

CanadaThey offer a baby bath that was never available which was disappointing because we didn't have a bathtub to wash our daughter. There should be a better system for using this and sharing it amongst parents with children! Also, when they drop off amenities bags, they should include toilet paper and not just towels. We ran out and had to ask at the front desk.
Great location, nice staff, comfy beds! Very family friendly spot that is clean and welcoming and close to everything in Kanazawa.
