We really enjoyed our stay. We booked a room with its own outside onsen tub, which was excellent. As we had our own private onsen, we did not use the common bathing facilities. As there are no restaurants anywhere near the hotel, we ate both breakfast and dinner at the hotel each day. They prepared different meals for us each time, and the meal presentation and taste were outstanding. The staff were also excellent, and attended to our every request. Several staff members were able to speak English as we can't speak any Japanese. The location is a bit out of town along a winding forest road. It would be impossible to get to the hotel without a car and google maps. With the meals our stay was somewhat expensive but we would definitely stay again when we are in the area.

This is not your typical ryokan but a modern one where nobody will wake you up at 7am for breakfast. Here, you can (almost) sleep as you please. 9 bungalows for 9 rooms. Each room has its own private onsen, one indoor and the other outdoor, in addition to the bigger "public" one. Staff is great. Dinner is superb, and so is breakfast. It's far, a bit remote but you must go for a peaceful and very charming moment.

The private onsen room is great! Clean and spacious, cozy bed and all. It was lovely how the dogs were welcome too, and they were thought of. The dog run was great! The staff was super friendly. We loved it here!

Food was great. Service was attentive and excellent. Special mention must be made of Agung san who served us over several meals and who provided great service and helpful advice on how to get to the places we wanted to visit. Room was very spacious and clean. Bed was extremely comfortable and the in-room bath was spacious and very relaxing. The entire place was a pretty sight to behold especially in the evenings. The dining area was warm and very inviting. It was cold when we were there and we woke up to see snow flurries one morning.

WiFi connection could have been better. Location - you really need a car to reach the hotel. The hotel name in Booking.com and the name on Google Map (Hanagokoro) does not match. It was confusing during setting of GPS.

The excellent service of the staff. Check-in by a Japanese male was quick n efficient. Indonesian staff Mr Agung n Ms Diva spoke good English and they were so polite and helpful too. The amenities in the room were good. Having both a personal indoor n outdoor hot bath within the room premises was excellent.

Amazing onsen experience! The property is pretty much hidden in the mountains and only accessible by car. The rooms are spacious and feel luxurious. We stayed in the house with both indoor and outdoor private onsen and it was lifechanging.

Cottage with not just beds but there’s also a TV area, sitting area and indoor onsen. Big single beds with USB cable plugs set right next to each bed. Very considerate design everywhere inside the cottage. Staff also speak English which is great. It’s located deep inside the woods but just follow Google map’s direction and we found it with no issues. Just have to make sure you try to get there before sunset, really really dark on the road otherwise. They have outdoor and indoor public baths (onsen) but we didn’t manage to use it. The private indoor one inside the room was good enough for us. Even though we only stayed for 1 night, really enjoyed the cottage. The dinner and breakfast were also delicious.

Flight of stairs to get up to our cottage so not convenient for those with mobility issues and hard to take our luggage into the room. Beds were bit soft and not very comfortable for us.

Private onsen in room with free parking. Away from the main Kurokawa onsen area so was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the beautiful surrounding with autumn foliage.

Quite difficult to find and locate but we did do this when it was dark.

Beautiful inn in the middle of the National Park, you need a car to get here though, I don’t think you could do it by public transport. Private onsens (indoor and outdoor) in each room and there’s public ones too. Beautiful, secluded spot, really quiet and peaceful and surrounded by nature. We had a lovely evening here.

The place is way too far away from the bus stop and did not send car to take us. So we spend a lot of money on taxi. Beware if you travel by public transportation like us.

The place is well-designed, enormous and very clean. The front desk staff who speaks english helped us all the way from booking taxi and restaurant reservation. The we have a private onsen and a public one both are nice and enjoyable.
