Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe pillows were hard.
It was so relaxing to have an onsen bath after a day of walking around. The complimentary noodles and ice cream were a treat. Our room was quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Access to the massage chairs while I waited for my laundry to finish was bliss.

AustraliaWe liked everything
We booked this hotel because it was conveniently close to the railway station, was relatively inexpensive and had positive reviews. We enjoyed staying there. The staff were friendly. The location was good (a little away from the busy tourist area) and the hotel was very clean and had good amenities. The onsen was excellent, as was the massage chair. We were walking distance from great places to eat too.

South KoreaNothing really
The staff members were extremely kind, breakfast and free noodle was really delicious and the hot spring was just about the right size for the number of people using it. It was also literally a good distance away from nara park. A nice walk around the hotel!

SingaporeDue to the proximity to the train station, some rooms face the train tracks and you can hear the trains going by. Not a big problem for me but you might want to request for a room on the other sides if you are a light sleeper. Pillows are super flat and hard. My neck felt a little sore after the first night but I was able to request for higher pillows from the front desk the next day. Future nights were very comfortable. The hotel can consider including a tracker on the massage chairs. There is an option for daily housekeeping (you can choose via the TV) and the hotel provides a night wear (shirt and pants) which you can use throughout the hotel but I don’t think the old set gets replaced with a new one during housekeeping. Not a big issue though as you can just request for a new set at the front desk.
Just 5 min away from JR Nara Station (you can see the hotel right after you exit the station). It was very convenient for those with luggage as the road to the hotel is quite smooth, we only had to cross 1 street. I loved the onsen, sauna and massage chairs. There are free ice creams and a meiji milk vending machine (140 yen each), which are great after a warm bath. Washing machines are free to use, and the dryers cost 100 yen for 10 min. The evening ramen was yummy as well and you can request for more than a bowl if you are hungry. There are free orange juice, coke, oolong tea, fanta etc. too. The hotel staff were warm and welcoming. Other than Japanese, some speak English and Chinese. So communication was very smooth. There is a TV in the room which shared live status of the hotel’s shared areas like how crowded were the onsen and restaurant, as well as which washing machines / dryers were in use and for how long. I really appreciated this as I could pick a timing to go down and have the facilities ready for use. The blackout curtains were so effective that I overslept…

United StatesA nice modern hotel immediately outside Nara JR train station. Outside the hotel is a busy shopping street leading to the main tourist attractions in Nara with plenty restaurants to choose from. Hotel breakfast was supper tasty. We had a good time in Nara and with the hotel.

SingaporeI do find it a bit pricey. I wish price can be cheaper. Also for the massage chairs, there are only two chairs to be shared amongst all the guests. Breakfast is good, but pricey.
It is really near the station, maybe just 5-10min walk. Amazingly clean. Staff is super nice and attentive. Make sure you use all the amenities to make sure money is well spent! (E.g. free laundry machine use, onsen, ice sticks)

AustraliaRoom looked exactly like the pictures with a blend of modern and traditional design. We could see the square and the station when we opened the window which was nice. Location was right next to the train station so super convenient. Onsen experience was fantastic along with the late night noodles and ice blocks. Don't forget to get the breakfast option, it was superb. Highly recommend

Hotel was located just in front of the JR station and the limousine airport bus which we took was close by too. We enjoyed the onsen, free ice cream, yakult and the ramen which were all free. Breakfast though mostly Japanese, was varied and good.

NetherlandsThis hotel was everything. Close to bus/treinstation to go around everywhere JR and local. Everything is within walking distance, although the park is 30 min walk on a easy pace, hence the local busses. Good food around and the hotel with it's interior and tatami gives you a real nice traditional experience. Futon where you are sleeping on are comfortable and the better ones we've slept on so far, although if you're bigger than 1m 80 it can become a bit small. Being able to use an onsen was really nice as well, the fact that they had bandages to cover small tattoos is really helpful as well. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.
