The bed ! But I think all beds in Japan are hard.

Great size room ! Well layed out. We got 2 pillows with out asking. Close to buses and train station.7/11 at the end of the street. Less than $20 in a taxi from Kyoto station. Would come back to stay.

A wonderful hotel that ticks all the boxes for exploring Kyoto

The prices of the vending machine were slightly inflated compared to what you'd find on the street, in a train station or shopping complex. That being said, with the regular supply of water and convenience stores within a short walk, it was only a tiny nuisance (I hate paying more than I should do...).

First, let's start with the location - for me, it ticked all the boxes; fairly centrally located making all the main sights within Kyoto a reasonably equal travel time; it's only slightly away from an arterial road, giving both the convenience of good bus stops within a short walk (the best way to get around the city), all the while avoiding the noise of the cars at night (I prefer silence); in addition to the bus stops, it's proximity to Omiya and Shijo-Omiya stations means you've got cheap local trains that go directly to Osaka and Arashiyama respectively. Now the hotel itself - it was immaculate, the staff were lovely and the added perk of two water bottles being provided in the fridge (and kept in supply by housekeeping) was a welcome bonus. As a solo traveller the room was delightfully comfortable and reminded me of university dorm rooms. I do understand why some couples may find it a little crampt for their liking, but I must point out that there is plenty of storage space under the beds so tripping over suitcases can be avoided. In summary, this hotel is a convenient base of operations for exploring the nearby areas - it represents efficiency and economical comfort, but not luxury. I'd happily return should I get the opportunity to visit Kyoto again.

The hotel location is a bit far (15 minute walk) out but close to the station or bus stop. Not a major problem

The hotel was really clean, the atmosphere was really nice and I’m shocked this is only 3 star because it felt more like a 4 star. The cleaning service was great and the reception staff were lovely. Laundry facilities available. The rooms are one of the Larger ones we have stayed at in Japan and the bed linen was actually really nice. The mattress was comfortable too.

    Nothing

The hotel is located in a quiet lane in a nice area close to restaurants and public transport. Good supermarkets nearby. Walking distance to Nijo Castle. Good facilities including washing machines. Comfortable bed and small but nice bathroom The restaurants were local rather than touristy. One outstanding restaurant was Non-chan Teppanyaki on the Shijo Omiya corner. 5floor. Well worth a visit

The bathroom had hair stuck on the walls, Once informing the staff the cleaner went into the room and still didn’t clean the bathroom with the hair, Pillow is rock hard, a bright blue flashing light on the back of the TV makes it very hard to sleep at night

Absolutely loved the location, and that it is located on a quiet side street. Close to large transport dubs, and also within walking distance of Nijo-jo castle and a few other Kyoto attractions.

    Nothing at all

Everything, the room is clean and comfy. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly (speaks good English too). Walking distance to bus stops, train stations & various food places. Also really near to a 7eleven but from my experience, the staff there were very rude, so I rather walk to the Family mart further away.

Nothing that they can really change but the bathrooms were very small and not much storage space. Although one good element to note is that they have space under the bed which was perfect for our luggage!

The staff and the general facilities were really great! We were in Japan for our honeymoon and the staff had prepared some cute deco which made us really happy! The location was ideal for us with of course 7/11, family marts around and also buses, metro stops at just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The location was quiet too so we were happy :) There was a little desk which was perfect as I had to work for a couple of evenings. Also the washing mashing and tumble drier were a great plus (you do need to pay yourself)!

The room, like everywhere in Japan, was very small with little space to open suitcases and hang clothes. This is why I rated it low on value for money.

Clean, modern hotel with all the required basics. The coin operated laundry was a nice feature. It was central to most things.

The only thing is that there is no breakfast.

Excellent hotel in a great location. At a 4-minute walk, there is a main bus station and at a 5-minute walk, there is a metro station. With the bus and metro stations you can reach the city center in 10 minutes. The hotel does not have a breakfast option, but there is a refrigerator in the room, so you can buy food at the supermarket and keep it in the refrigerator or walk to a coffee store that is located 4 minutes from the hotel. The hotel is quiet, you don't hear the noise between the rooms, the hotel staff is lovely and helps with anything you need. There is an option to keep belongings in the lobby. We took an 18 square meter room and it was excellent. A clean hotel, the room is fully cleaned once every three days, and towels are changed and the trash is emptied every day. We stayed at the hotel for a week and the price was excellent. Highly recommended!
