Mary and Alex were great managers. They had great recommendations for local eateries and were very knowledgeable about the resorts. I had every need met and even when I needed to check out expeditiously it was done so! Thank you, Mary and Alex, for being amazing hosts at Panketo!

Friendly staff welcomed me and my dog. Lovely log fire in the evening, self-serve coffee and tea on the counter was a nice surprise, breakfast was right for me.

Bed wasn't that comfy but not bad.

The Lodge is so beautiful and cozy, Hiro was very helpful driving us around all the time and the breakfast was amazing everyday. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. It really felt like home.

Lack of air conditioning. It was soooooo hot. But we still managed 😀

The manager at the time was super accommodating. Shuttle bus, dropped us off into town. Called a taxi for us, got breakfast ready earlier for us bcoz we needed to check out earlier. 10/10

There was nothing that we did not like.

Allowing the pets is a plus plus bonus for us and included breakfast was very good as well. The staff is so nice and treats you like family. The fireplace is so cozy and the location is perfect for beginner Skiers.

Everything! The rooms were clean and comfy. Being able to bring our dog with us was awesome, but the level of dog accommodations blew me away. Dog beds, bowls, towels to wipe their paws. The breakfast was so delicious and the property managers were so kind and accommodating. The yoga studio was amazing and it was the perfect retreat. I can’t wait to go back!

The hotel is a little far from the centre of Baima Village and the southernmost ski run of Hakuba Happo-One Ski Resort. It takes more than a kilometre to walk. If you go skiing, the boss can drive guests there and walk by himself when he comes back. If you have a car, you don't have to worry at all.

The boss is very enthusiastic and will drive us to the ski resort. The atmosphere of the hotel is very warm, and the layout is more like a home than the hotel. You can rest in the living room on the first floor and enjoy the snow scenery outside the window. Breakfast is delicious. The boss's dog is also very cute.

The family room we were staying at had a tiny washing sink, so it wasn't comfortable to wash face or brush teeth. Other rooms had larger sink. Another small minus - grand piano was terribly out of tune, would really appreciate having that one fixed.

Great welcoming staff, wonderful breakfast, great common space - a huge living room with a real chimney. Kids could play on their own or watch Netflix. Dry room for skis and gear; comfortable bed, lots of drawers, where we could put our cloth. Quick access to the Happo-one entrance and kids play zone. All in all wonderful experience!

The walls are a little thin so the place can be a bit noisy if you are unlucky with the other guests. We were lucky, but if you are a light sleeper I recommend bringing earplugs.

Lovely ryokan/guesthouse experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the place was super nice - I particularly liked the large living room with fireplace. Breakfast was delicious - buffet style + a hot dish (we had eggs on day 1, smoked salmon bagel on day 2). The lifts are within walking distance as are some restaurants.

Room had a bad smell from the drain the first day. After a few showers it went away.

Great host, mamy is fun to talk with! She made my whole family smile. Perfect place for a pet and family vacation. Walking distance from lifts with excellent restaurants near by

Our first time at Panketo Lodge, but we’ll definitely stay again. We took our little dog and he also enjoyed being able to explore the property and meet other furry friends! Hot tasty breakfast was different each morning and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful!

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Panketo Lodge. Our host Leo was very friendly and helpful. His golden retriever Marlon also lives at the lodge and is a very friendly dog. I highly recommend staying here for your stay in Hakuba!

because it is a lodge and it’s a homey space, you can hear a lot from your room. our dog would bark from our room because of all the sounds. we didn’t mind but it’s nice to know if your dog doesn’t do well in that environment. we would absolutely stay here again.

we loved this place with our dog. super pet friendly. breakfast was great and had a lot of different options. the host is wonderful and helpful.

Absolutely loved everything about Panketo Lodge! Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating and breakfast was amazing. The lodge is in a quiet and peaceful area and the Lodges resident dog is SO beautiful!
