Excellent host, felt very comfortable. Directions were very clear, helped us with bus bookings, dropped us at the bus station. Bikes were great for riding around the lake, a must do with constant views of Mt Fuji going to be a highlight of our trip to Japan..

The pension felt like a second home at Lake Yamanaka. The hostess was extremely kind and welcoming. Since public transportation is scarce in the evening, she drove us to get dinner at a restaurant and she returned and picked us up once we were finished.

Reasonable price. We booked room of 4. Room size was ok, 4 beds provided. Good for short stopover. Room with mount Fuji view. Ample parking space. Very friendly and helpful staff

Sharing bathrooms is not for everyone. For us, it was no problem. The location is a little walk from the bus station, but it's totally ok. Marie even offered to bring us by car.

The owner is so incredibly nice and friendly. We travelled with a little child, and she gave him something to eat every time we arrived back at the pension. In the morning, even extra baby breakfast. She was so sweet. Rooms are nice, with a great view of Mount Fuji. We liked the quiet location. Very delicious breakfast for 1000 yen extra. We liked both the Western and the Japanese Option. Traditional Japanese Bath was also very relaxing. Thank you for everything!

No dislikes, the whole experience was lovely. Weather could have been better whilst we were there but nothing anyone could have done about that!

The hostess is lovely - very friendly, helpful and kind. She made us feel very welcome whilst also respecting our privacy. She went above and beyond to cater to our needs. Room was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely recommend!

Narrow steep stairs with narrow corridors. Banging noise when rain hits on structure outside the room. Need to negotiate a slope when cycling back from lakeside.

Quiet neighbourhood, spacious 3 bedded room. Host very helpful, supplied tea and some grapes on first night, and added sausage to our breakfast with cup noodles that sell at 100 yen only. Can see fuji mountain from my room (Not all rooms)

Quiet little pension close to the lake (5 mins walk downhill). Couldn't catch the name of the lady who takes care of the place, but she was extremely sweet and considerate. The breakfast was very good especially the fish option.

We needed a place for a very short stay near Fuji, and pension Marie was perfect! We were greeted by the owner/manager, who was more than accommodating. The guest house was exactly what we expected - not the newest/trendiest, but very comfortable, a good value, and impeccably clean. The shared bathrooms were no problem, we hardly saw other guests. Fun stay!

The Chinese lady who works/manages the location is an absolute angel. What a lovely woman. She was so helpful and such a kind soul. The location is amazing for views of Fuji in the morning (only in certain rooms). You are two streets away from amazing views though

I stayed in the twin room with private ensuite. It was very clean and spacious. Our host was so lovely and generous. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. I would stay there again in the future. The accomodation is in a quiet street and is an easy, 10 minute walk to the shops, major bus station and the Swan Lake Pleasure Cruise. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you

Not much to dislike, the bathroom is very small and the hot water takes a little while to come on.

Bed was comfortable, blankets were warm, the hosts were very sweet, and I was greeted by a Fuji-San view from my room. Its full of Showa-era charm and I would stay here again.
