The breakfast was pretty good - traditional japanese that we liked very much. The location was also easy to reach by walking from the station. It was also in a peaceful location so that it allows diving deeper in the traditional japanese ryokan atmosphere.

The staff really made our stay special. The room was huge and the hot spring bath was amazing. The beds were very comfortable. Walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. We will not doubt be staying here again.

The maximum Japanese design style room and garden views create a serene ambiance. But the staff's warmth and attentiveness elevate the stay even more. And it's hard not to include the traditional breakfast when it comes to this review. No bad things to say about the stay!

We arrived late on the day we checked in and they were super accommodating. I’ve travelled a lot around the world and I’ve never stayed in a place so beautiful. The room was spectacular: it was very large with divisions separating each room, super well maintained, very warm and comfortable as we were staying in the winter, huge private garden, and the private onsen was a highlight. The staff were lovely and kind. The Japanese breakfasts were delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone who comes to Kanazawa!

I love the secluded charm of the location, nestled away from busy streets yet conveniently close to everything. The exclusivity and tranquility create a unique atmosphere. The spacious, traditionally adorned room blends seamlessly with the scenic landscape. Our personal hot spring bath adds a touch of luxury. The Japanese breakfast is exceptionally delicious, and the staff's incredible kindness and politeness stood out. Remarkably, when my husband left his AirPod behind, they promptly found it and sent it to our next destination in Osaka.

The overall experience was excellent! 🙌🏻 The staff was very attentive, professional and always willing to help. They arranged for us the service to send all our luggage to our next destination, and also accommodated some food restrictions for my wife. The Japanese breakfast was outstanding. It was delicious and perfectly presented. The Machiya is located in a very quiet area but within a walking distance to all the main tourist attractions in Kanazawa and close to restaurants and shops. What really stands out is the attention to detail reflected in every corner of the property. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. Keep up the great work! We will for sure come back next time we visit Kanazawa! 🙏🏻

The mirror in the bathroom could be a little higher for tall men :)

We felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay in the beautiful old House. It is spacious, clean and very well-equipped. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is best at the end of a long day. Yukata were given fresh each day and breakfast was delicious each day. Most of all we enjoyed the attention given by these kind and friendly people working at "Machi no Odoriba". We learned about the house and japanese culture - a treasure we'll preserve and take with us back home.

Breakfast was challenging for a vegetarian as it required adaptation to tradition, but the staff were extremely accommodating.

Place was beautiful and we were given amazing clothes to use and the staff were lovely. We learnt a lot about Japanese tradition.

the Ryokan is super cute, quite spacious and comfortable. they give the traditional Japanese outfit, which made the experience more enjoyable and realistic. we had breakfast included, my wife is coeliac and they made a delicious gluten free Japanese breakfast which we loved! the rooms have a pretty garden and onsen bath! just the perfect way to relax on a rainy day

This was the most luxurious ryokan ever! We wanted a comfortable but authentic place to relax after a tour of Japan and this inn was perfect! It was so spacious and elegant, and the private garden and quiet atmosphere were so soothing and peaceful. Even though located on a quiet street it was close to shops and restaurants and the train station. The amenities were lovely. The staff was charming and so helpful and really tried to make our stay perfect. The breakfast was delicious, perfectly presented and cooked. Thank you for a perfect Japanese experience!

The stay was excellent. The baby crying next door was a bit loud around bedtime, but not in their control.

Excellent staff. Very personable, attentive and welcoming. They also made a point to teach a bit about the region and history of the ryokan. The staff went out of their way to accomodate allergies and special food requests.

I loved everything about our stay.

The authenticity of the place, it is a beautiful tradition Japanese house. There is also a private onsen in the bathroom. Women who work there were so lovely, so friendly. We had also traditional breakfast and I am vegetarian and they accommodated the meals for me. There is also a coffee shop in the establishment and they have great coffee with delicious cakes.
