Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelRoom was very small. We made it work and it was good for us, but small.
The hotel facilities were amazing! Big common area with kitchen, bar, places to sit, movie nights etc. it had the best vibe and felt like a big fancy living room :) the room itself had everything we needed and was very clean. Location was great on a super cute street with a lot of restaurants.

New ZealandNo kettle in room. Wifi very bad. Aircon is central and not adjustable, very hot and stuffy.
Walking distance to Kyoto station, quiet. Great communal kitchen facilities. Friendly English speaking staff. Clean and modern. Great value

AustraliaEntirely too few washers and dryers for the number of guests staying, paired with no reservation system, means we frequently were not able to make use of the dryers and had to dry our clothes in our room.
Very clean, comfortable stay with great staff and things to do.

ItalyRooms are rather intimate (small). Not a big deal for us as we are used to travel light. But consider it if you have bulky suitcases.
We spent few days at Tune Stay and we loved the common areas of the place, particularly the kitchen/dining area. It is ideal to be able to eat in or cook something and relax after a whole day walking around. Good location and spotless clean friendly, English speaking staff

BelgiumThe mattress is somewhat hard. If you have back problems you might want to consider using a thick blanket as underlaying layer. A few amenities are also only on demand, however that served no problem for me.
Tune stay is wonderfully located, and has a charming look within the street. It's not far from the station, and allows easy access to plenty of the popular attractions through bus, metro, or even walking! The room is small yet intuitively divided. This means you'll still find plenty of space to pack and store your luggage or even hang your clothing. They provide an easy to use washer if you need to do some laundry, and there's even a spotless clean kitchen for those looking to cook for themselves. Immensely clean, modern and practical. The team is also super diverse, meaning you can be helped in plenty of languages including english. Helps to mention they are incredibly kind.

SwitzerlandThe lighting in front of the mirror could have been a bit better to do my makeup in the morning
The bed was really comfortable and the water pressure great in the shower. There was a community kitchen in the basement, a laundromat, extra bathtubs, and anything you might need. Everything was extremely clean and well thought through.

PortugalFor those who don't like air conditioning, the room is a bit hot because it is small.
Hotel and stay very pleasant, near Kyoto station where there is a wide variety of restaurants. The hotel also offers a night cinema service and has a library. Another great thing is the kitchen area where we can eat our own food if we don't feel like going out to eat.

PhilippinesWhile we appreciated having laundry facilities in the hotel, however we did not like that the dryer’s time is at ¥100 but only for 3 minutes 😞 so to completely dry your clothes, you need to keep adding more ¥
Really beautiful and large common areas, specially the spacious library which doubles up as a theater. They have movie nights! Loved the kitchen-dining area (at B1) that everyone can use. Provided a decent smoking area outside the hotel. Was really surprised in the excellent use of space in an otherwise compact room, such as having space underneath the bed to store your luggage. A lot of restaurants and bars in the neighborhood as well as konbinis close by. Some notable temples are also just a few minutes walk away. Added bonus: almost all of the front office staff know how to speak good English and are all very helpful.

United StatesThe meal options were very limited but they did have a kitchen that you could utilize with your own grocery so that made up for this.
I loved the library and the entertainment during the movie showings! Even though we did not know japanese, we used google lens to translate the books as we read so there were some really interesting books. We also really enjoyed the drinks from the bar.
