How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Self-service check in, there is no one attending to our queries it’s all via video call. Meals can only be ordered at the point of room reservation.
Location, free flow drinks & tidbits. Flat iron for hair styling. Indoor onsen.

The hotel doesn’t provide luggage storage, if it’s the case, the customers should be noticed in advance. We were stuck at the hotel door with our luggage when we had arrived. Please notice in advance.

Check in process as per described by other more frustrated users. Unnecessarily slow and painful. There was a pre check in process email sent, but it would have been equally painful hence I didn’t bother.
Excellent facilities. Drink bar had full range snacks and beverages including alcohol.

If only the car park was closer, it was about a 5-10minutes walk.
View was great, you could even watch the sunrise. Rooms were really spacious and free flow drinks were available at the lobby during specific time period.

No fork, spoon and chopstick to use in the room, but there’re plates.
The room and facilities are good. Very clean and spacious. The sea view is stunning.

The breakfast included a miso soup from packet and rice with raw fish on top. The fish was meh, I couldn’t eat all of it even though I usually have no problem with raw fish in Japan

Reception is staffless - you have to fill out everything yourself, which is not a bad thing. After filling out data, you need to have a call with shared service centre to confirm your identity. This proved to be more problematic due to poor sound quality. But in general, that's not a big problem, you will have to do it once anyway.
All rooms have ocean view, rooms are spacious, comfortable, refurbished with quality. Downstairs there is a free bar, which is always a plus. Roof terrace, SPA, pretty much everything you need. Small kitchen in room with kettle and microwave.

The only downside was the extended check-in process, requiring a verification call that unfortunately went unanswered for over 20 minutes. This aspect could benefit from improvement to enhance the overall guest experience.

We absolutely loved it here. Free alcohol and coffee and Lollies for the kids. Onsen was amazing too. Big beautiful rooms. Fave place in Japan

Unable to check in early. Arrived at 10:00 AM. Was fortunate to catch a member of the staff to ask about holding luggage until check in time. The staff informed us that that they could not store the luggage. But also was unhelpful about where we could find lockers to store our luggage. Found that the Hospitality center on the beach had lockers, but had to drag the suitcases a good 15-20 minutes.
Rooms had ample space, full ocean view, full amenities, extremely clean and onsen available. Ice cream available outside the onsen.
