How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A bit disappointed I could not use the public bath again on check out as the cleaning time is really long (from 9:00 to 15:00 the bath is closed) The lighting at the door is absent 😅 I would suggest to install another light by the room entrance
I would definitely stay again, laundry service and bath open until 1 at night appreciated!

The Hotel is located on a main avenue and the first night was a bit loud with buses, fire trucks, ambulances. For the Second night I didnt hear as much noise. If You are a light sleeper ask for a room that doesnt face the street. I couldnt use the public bath because of my tattoos. But I understand it is part of the cultrure.
Breakfast was super delicious. Beds were comfortable and the matress was big. It is located in front of a Bus Stop so it is very easy to reach. 10 to 15 min Walk to Nijo Train Station. Staff was friendly.

Location is not close to a train station (on a bus line though). I was given a piece of paper that advised non Japanese tourists not to use the large common bath as a toilet. No towels provided there. This was a turn off and I only used the bathroom in the room.

There was a charging cable as well as a folding make up mirror on the desk which was a nice touch. They have added an automatic door to the elevator hall area and that kept the noise level down.

Small rooms, beds are relatively large for the size of the room, bathrooms have a temporary feel to it.
Nice location, friendly staff that are willing to help, clean rooms and soft beds (rarity in Japan!).

I don’t like the option “room with beds chosen at check in” and the breakfast could be better by the way: there was almost no desserts and fruit (only orange pieces in one day out of 2)
Rooms were clean and brand new. Inside of the room you have everything you need for comfort stay

The breakfast buffet was great quality but felt a little bit pricey considering the number of very high quality cafes in the area. We didn't regret the one day we went to the buffet, however nearby cafes offered similar food ranges at a reduced cost.
Probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Beautiful aromas of spice as you enter, exceptionally clean, everything super high quality. Incredible location, so many super high quality food restaurants nearby. Incredible onsen, felt so refreshing having a bath there. Top tier hotel, it was totally worth it.

We had too little time to enjoy breakfast as we had to rush to airport
Very clean and neat (looks like new), comfortable beds and nice amenities, onsen in the building (although we didnt use, it looked great), amazing breakfast buffet style with plenty variety of traditional food as well as western-style food, laundry machine in the building was helpful. And the staff was amazing, went the extra mile to: 1) accomodate our family when I noticed that we had booked the incorrect date and Booking.com could not help us rectify the mistake and 2) help us find an efficient and cost effective way to travel to the airport. Our thanks here to the staff and to Kim.

Good location, walking distance to trains, local shops and Nijo-jo castle and gardens. Easy access to other locations by train. Best access from Kyoto Station to Nijo station is by the JR local line. The subway connection involves a transfer and carrying bags up and down lots of steps. Good three day stay.

Housekeeping happens every 3 days, and the room is a little small, but nothing major. They do change the towels every day, though.
Great value for money. The staff was nice, and the rooms were very clean. There is a Japanese-style shower room with a hot tub, which is very nice. Location is decent, but not super central. They also let us store our luggage for the entire day after check-out.

Rooms were very small for 4 people but most rooms are in Japan. Other than that, we loved our stay so much!
So welcoming and a great location. Both the French male staff members were so lovely and so helpful. Wish I was still there! Best bakery I have ever been to just around the corner. Loved it! 💞

Triple Room might be a bit small for three people with big luggage. Its okay for 2-3 days but longer its too small.
Great Location. Bus Stop, Train Station, Convenient Store and Supermarket all in walking distance. Nice Staff and free amenities in the lobby.

Great value for the price. The hotel is new and very clean, the staff is very friendly, the rooms are bigger than average, the beds are comfortable and clean, they have smart tvs in the rooms, and the hot bath on the first floor is amazing! The bath area is very clean and has high quality cosmetic products as well. The coffee in the lounge is also good! I would definitely stay here again. Thank you :)

The breakfast was not amazing.
This place has the best pajamas! Not far from Nijo Station and a supermarket and 7/11 very handy to the hotel. Lovely staff happy to help with anything you need.
