Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe bathroom had a full size window (with a curtain) which let you be seen from the bedroom when having a shower. So a full privacy is not guaranteed and this could annoy someone.
The hotel is located just at the exit of the Akihabara railway and subway station. It is in a lively area where you have no difficulties to find restaurants and shops. The lobby (a small one) is at the third floor while the rooms are all from the 4th to the 13th floor. Our room was of average dimension (not large) but comfortable enough for its amenities (not different from those offered by a four star hotel, among them a massage chair), very well lighted with its large windows. Having asked for a top floor room we enjoyed an incredible view on the city (the room overlooked the station but there was no noise with close windows).

AustraliaAs great as the bathroom was, it wasn't very private. The small hotel room had a large glass window between the bed and the toilet and a sliding door that didn't quite close fully. They had installed a blind which was helpful, but I think the room would be better for one person.
The location is fantastic, right over the station (dont worry no noise) just moments from electric town and Yodobashi. The full shower with hand held and tall ceiling option was great, my husband is tall and most showers throughout Japan have been short over bath showers. The addition of an in room massage chair was great too and there was a nice view.

AustraliaThe rooms are small but I knew that going in . Two of us shared , so you just have to open your suitcase on the bed and get out what you need then pack it up again as there isn't room to leave it open.
I loved the location which is so close to Akihabara station and electric town. The price is good , the staff are welcoming , the rooms are clean and daily housekeeping was very efficient . The toiletries they provided were convenient . The shower is amazing , hot and powerful. Kettle in the room was great , and the massage chair was ok as an extra .

United KingdomThe room wasn’t very clean (marks on the wall, lots of dust, the shower glass looked like it wasn’t cleaned after the previous guest). Also, the room was extremely small and I struggled to open my medium sized suitcase.
The location makes it easy to travel around Tokyo. Akihabara station is next door to the hotel and there are lots of places to eat nearby. The hotel has a laundry room and provides amenities at reception.

SingaporeThe room is too small for two people with two mid-size luggage. The massage chair should be removed in view of the space constraints.

New ZealandWe were not expecting there to be a full size window in the bathroom. Im not really a huge fan of making eye contact with my friends when they're trying to take a poo in the bathroom, or having a shower. Also the curtain that was there was stylised to have holes in it, so even if it was for privacy, you could still see through it into the bathroom, so we had to make a concerted effort not to look at the left hand side of the room when we were in our beds and one of us needed the bathroom
breakfast was good. The hotel was close to most things in akihabara which made it easy to find things, go out for dinner etc. Staff were super friendly and checking/check out was an absolute breeze.

AustraliaWhile the massage chair was welcome, it does take up a lot of space. It’s also possibly awkward for non-couples to share a room since the bathroom is kind of open to the bedroom space via a window.
Massage chair in the room was amazing after a long flight and after wandering around Tokyo all day. Location is also extremely convenient to get to and from anywhere in Tokyo. Staff were also very nice.

United KingdomThe elevators are a bit weird. The hotel starts on the 6th floor where reception is. Elevators always stop there even if you're trying to get to your room floor from the ground floor which is a tad annoying but no biggie.
