Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaNothing.
The facilities were very clean and modern. The bathrooms are communal and I stayed on the mixed floor so I always went up to the females-only floor to use their additional powder room. I stayed with two family members so it felt comfortable to be near everyone.

United KingdomA 10 minute walk from any transport but otherwise great!
The facilities are high quality. The “capsule” itself is a full sized bed inside a cabin, with two curtains. This means it’s sound proof and light proof so I had the best night’s sleep here! The facilities are all very clean. There is also a common area on some floors so you can sit somewhere not your bed. The property uses a key to go into each bedroom area so all very secure as well. Right next to Kappabashi Hondori St. They let me keep baggage before and after check in with a secure lock too.

United KingdomExcellent sleeping area, comfy and more spacious than the other capsule hotels I’ve stayed in. Plenty of room for bags/suitcase under your bed and easy storage for more in corridor outside sleeping rooms. Bathrooms were clean and lots of amenities. Washing facilities were useful. Great location. Would definitely recommend

United StatesNothing really, but if i was to nitpick, the trash bin in the toilet area tends to over flow, its cute and blends with the place’s aesthetic but its very small
This has been my go to place when going to Tokyo, amazing value, it’s half the price of hotels and has similar amenities. Noticed a couple of improvements since my last stay (December): - they have a tablet in the front desk so they can show you your personal details in their file - if you’re staying long, they will clean your bed every 4 days, last year it was only once for my two week stay Then there’s their usual amazing service: -they provide a face towel and body tower everyday, free tooth brush, hair brush, razor, cotton buds, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap -they clean the common areas everyday -their shower (i attached a photo) its amazing, even better than most fancy hotels, the water pressure is perfect, very relaxing -their staff is always helpful and mindful of the guests, especially Nana and Sapu!, they always smile at guests even when passing by, its that small detail that makes the place very welcoming

MalaysiaNothing. But would be great to have full-length mirror in the make up room or corridor, so we can check out outfit look.
The room and area offer more space compared to other hostels in Tokyo. There's room beneath the bed for smaller bags, while larger luggage can be conveniently stored outside the door in accessible luggage storage. Even though I’m staying in a mixed dormitory on the 3rd floor, I have the choice to use the female bathroom located on the 4th floor. The waiting time for lift is short.

I really liked this capsule hostel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the structure itself has various amenities such as spacious showers and lounges where you can stock up on drinks. In the women's area there's even an additional make-up room. The other guests are very quiet and considerate. Apart from that the structure is very clean and well maintained. I would definitely return.

South AfricaDepending on the subway line, there is a bit of a walk to get to the station - something to keep in mind especially if you're carrying a lot of things!
The capsules were very comfortable with good lighting and lots of space underneath to store luggage. Loved that there was a small locker in the capsule to store valuables, and the whole side of the capsule can be used to place other things so they don't clutter the mattress space. I also really liked the design of the capsule and how each one is unique. The bathroom, shower, and powder room facilities were all pristine and well designed - there also are so many free amenities that you don't have to worry about forgetting anything at home. Added brownie points that there is a rest area on every floor, so you don't need to leave your floor if you need to eat/make a call. Very close to general Asakusa area so lots of places to eat or explore nearby.
