There are two buildings in this hotel. And our room is in the next building. There is a fair walk between two buildings and the reception, breakfast and bath are all located in the main building.

We are welcomed by a staff who can speak English. He kindly shows us around and tells us the facilities about the hotel. Our room is big, on high floor and have a view. The breakfast is nice and has a lot of varieties. We definitely have a good experience at Wakura Onsen Notosaku. Thank you.

We had a free pickup from the train station to the hotel. As we didn't manage to inform the hotel about our arrival time, the tourist information counter at the train station was nice enough to make the call for us so that the hotel could come pick us up.... which they did in less than 5 mins. Super service :) Check in at the hotel was super smooth too, with a fantastic dinner and fabulous breakfast thrown in. Room is huge overlooking the sea. Good for relaxation and away from the bustle of city life. Most of the staff are unable to speak English...but their smiling faces and gentle actions put us at ease although we don't understand a word of Japanese;)

Could use a thicker-mattress for the futon.

Reasonably-priced large hotel situated at the eastern end of the Wakuraonsen seafront. A nice 15 mins walk to the sights in "town." Get help from tourist information to call for pick-up if shuttle is not waiting at JR wakuraonsen station. Dinner and breakfast were great! Nice onsens.

We liked the room that we had reserved and ultimately ended up with, however, at check-in they led us to a significantly lesser room, one we had not reserved, in an adjacent wing that was shabby and Western style. It was not until I complained to the front desk that we had been shown to the incorrect room that they were able to go back and give us the room that I had booked many months ago. I had originally made a reservation through the booking.com website and then called on the phone to verify with verbal confirmation and also email through the booking.com website confirming the large Japanese style room. It was a complete mystery why they chose to try to change the room on us. In the end indeed they put us where we were supposed to be, but if I had not fussed, they would have been perfectly happy to stow us in the adjacent wing where we would have had to walk through the cold to the hot spring. We booked non-smoking Japanese family room - they originally gave us a shabby distant Western room smelling of stale cigarette smoke. Also, I was unfortunately food poisoned at our first meal. The meals were fabulous, but the food poisoning did put a bit of a damper on our stay and meant that I really didn't eat anything much for the rest of the visit. I would stay there again but I would say buyer beware. At check-in I recommend doubly verifying that the room they will lead you to is the room you reserved. As for the food poisoning, that's just dumb luck. As for the staff, they were congenial and ultimately very helpful. There was no argument since it was quite clear that they had taken us to the incorrect room, though no explanation was ever made. I am fluent in Japanese which certainly helped to remedy the situation. I'm not sure how it all would have played out if I were not able to speak Japanese but I suspect there was somebody on the staff who might have been able to help. The baths were wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with ping pong.
