My room on 7th floor was facing the exhaust outlets for the neighboring restaurants. Try to stay on a higher floor or ask for a room with an unobstructed view. .

The bathtub and shower are one unit, which is a good thing. You can fill the bathtub to the top, jump in, and it doesn't matter if it overflows. Also, the location of the hotel is convenient to the best supermarkets and train station.

The location of the motel in relation to Yokohama railway station was ideal - just an easy walk. Staff were very efficient and managed to convey what was needed, despite the language barrier. Our room was on the 14th floor from memory and had great views over the streets below. Room on the small side, but well appointed.

This hotel was the equivalent of something much more expensive. A very large room, by Japanese city standards. Coin laundry was easy to use, and progress of the wash could be observed from the TV in my room. I will definitely check out the Richmond chain of hotels when I stay in other Japanese cities.

Location is excellent. About 5 mins walk to train station and 30mins direct train to Tokyo Station. Lots of shopping and food outlets at Yokohama train station. Two mini-mart near hotel. Room amenities are adequate.

Difficult to find the hotel given the complexity of Yokohama station and the construction work next to the hotel. Not that keen about having the wash hand basin in the room and the relative lack of hanging and storage space both of which seem to be general features of Richmond Hotels. We travel light but struggled to find space to keep the room tidy. Some hooks from Daiso would have been very useful.

The staff were excellent and made every effort to be helpful. The rooms, though small, were comfortable (the single room was the same size as the double room). The location was very convenient for the station and eateries. The laundry facilities were excellent and could be checked on the screen in the room. The room was quiet even though there was construction next door. We sourced our own breakfast from the excellent bread shops in the station and from the convenience stores next to the hotel. Once we worked out the complex layout of the station we made good use of the excellent railway links, including the direct link to Narita Airport (JR) and to Haneda Airport (not JR), both of which we used.

Room was clean. It is close to yokohama station with only 3 minutes walk after you figured out which is the closest gantry exit. There is a family mart just below the street corner to any quick snacks.

Yokohama is a good location to ease yourself into being in Japan for the first time. Not as busy as Central Tokyo. The hotel was clean and fairly spacious for one. Good place for breakfast too.

Excellent location. Very well managed. The guests needs were thoughtfully considered - an example of which was the on-site laundry facilities with even an ability to check the availability of machines on the TV from the comfort of your own room.

I had issues with the elevator. It may have just been me. It was also very hot outside and the hallways aren't A/C so maybe I was just stressed. I'll give benefit of the doubt on this one.
