Host was very quick to respond to any questions, thank you! House was very clean, spacious and comfortable for our group of 4. Bathrooms and kitchen are well equipped. Kyoto JR station is about 10 minutes away, lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance.

The dryer really doesn’t work well. We tried many settings including 2h air dry, and nothing worked.

The location is quite good, and the place itself feels nice and spacious. We all slept well, and it’s a good alternative for groups with several individuals who still want their own rooms

The location is a quiet residential area at the back of the station, very convenient if you plan to use Kyoto Station for a lot of day trips/travel. Otherwise, a lot of time spent navigating to local sites and busier (more tourist focused) areas. I probably would stay closer to a busier area next time to make access to shrines and other tourist locations easier.

The house was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, easy to access with pin code, and they allowed us to drop our luggage early which was a great help. There is an Aeon mall very close, with a supermarket, food court, and many other useful stores. The house is pretty spacious and comfortable for 5 people, we didn't even use the tatami room, so could have slept 1-2 more people. The host was very responsive to my questions leading up to the stay. Loved the bathroom (although some hooks for clothing outside the shower room would be helpful)!

It's mostly nitpicking, but: - we would have appreciated glasses and bowls in glass or porcelain instead of plastic. - there were neither spoons nor table knives - globally, manuals for the equipment was lacking, specifically in english (apart from the instructions for the washing machine) - there was no curtains to block the light in the bedrooms - one of the lights in the kitchen was very flaky

Great experience! The staff was helpful, efficient and discreet. The neighborhood was incredibly calm and very cozy. We would definitely come back if we ever go to Kyoto again.

Great home to experience traditional Japanese Machiya home. Plenty of space, comfortable beds, kitchen, quite location, walking distance to Kyoto station. The place was perfect for our family and fitted 8 of us. Host was super accomodating and very friendly. Highly recommend Shunju Rooji to anyone, particularly family group, looking for a great place to stay in Kyoto.

the location is perfect! close to Kyoto station, Aeon mall, Tōji temple, grocery store, combini... everything. The hosts thought of EVERYTHING rice cooker, dish sponges, etc. there was even coffee and tea. everything was spotless! there was ample too. to stretch out and have your own space. this is a perfect vacation rental for a family!

It’s on a narrow alley so no taxis can go through which was okay since we wheeled our luggage from the street to the unit.

The location was convenient and the decor was very nice. Best part were the rain shower and washer/dryer (although you have to leave ¥500 per use which we thought was quite okay). The 2 shower rooms and 2 toilets (1st and 2nd floor) were perfect for a large group like ours. We kept our luggage in the 1st floor Japanese room and slept on the 2nd floor. Ground coffee was provided so we bought creamers and sweeteners. The host was very responsive especially after I sprained my ankle at the Torii Temple, they even brought me a cane to help me!

It's a modern house in a quiet neighbourhood. Near to Aeon mall. There is a projector screen, TV and Nintendo switch. Very cosy and comfortable place. Excellent host who attended to our requests quickly.

The owner was very kind and polite, answered all our questions, was always available and also left us a welcome gift. The house is beautiful and very well equipped. The kitchen has everything to cook and make your meals. Wifi is connected to projectors so we enjoyed watching movies and songs. We could watch Netflix, play Nintendo Switch and play board games The bed is very confortable. Each room has an air conditioner. It's a residential area, but there is an Aeon and a kombini nearby, so you can buy food and everything else you can need.
