It is a bit noisy since it’s japanese style thin walls. This didn’t bother us much though. There are no curtains (in the room we were in) so we woke up early.

The hotel is managed by an old man, super nice. Despite the langage barrier, he checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed. The house is clean, beds confortable. We used the public bath which was warm and nice. We had it for our own family (you can indicate when busy and people respect privacy and wait for their turn). Eventhough it’s out of the touristic zone, it is easily accessed with a 20 min walk.

The layout is just a bit special. There is a kitchen but just two forks 😂 Still, I recommend this place. I wanna go back!!

It's a nice little place, with a bit of a quirky charm. Good value for the money, and we really enjoyed staying there. It's a bit old and has seen better days, but we really enjoyed it. Perfect location, very nice onsen.

The bathroom smelled a lot like (rotten?) fish :/ apart from that the rooms and toilets were clean

There was free bike rental, which is very convenient as the place is a bit on the outskirts! Also there is a Onsen in the House, which is great.

Probably the only thing my friends didn't like too much which was annoying as westerners was the fact that there was no private shower cubicles accept in the main building the back off the house had a bathhouse which was not always convenient for one person to use

Was a nice slice of old Japanese comfort and hospitality it's rooms were basic a little aged but still very nice to stay in and are still pleasant to sleep on the floor there was a really nice bath house at the back of the ryokanand the manager of the place was very friendly and going and helping us

Free hotel bicycles, huge room, friendly host, very helpful. Spent time going through the local map with us. Onsen attached to building. Not a complaint, just need to be aware that there are paper thin walls and kids need to be quiet.

One minor thing is that we used the bath in the evening and the water wasn’t very clean, but I imagine that’s normal after a whole day of people using it! We were told best time to use it is the morning. Apart from this we loved our stay!

Loved the relaxed and charming atmosphere of the place! Super friendly host who speaks fluent english and could give us some recommendations :) very reasonable price for beautiful tatami rooms.

It was a little far away from Matsumoto Castle but still very nice and comfortable.

I thought the room was lovely! Cute, clean, and with a nice view of the mountains. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The showers were nice and there were bikes you could reserve.

There aren’t food options offered but that is more than ok.

It is a clean and practical ryokan with an authentic Japanese feel to it! The onsen is great to use because you may reserve it as a private onsen. Great for families like us. The owner doesn’t speak English too well but is super nice and as always you will get around with hands and feet.

There was some unknown substance in the water of the bathing facility.

The facility has an annex with a bathing facility, which can be awesome to relax in after a long day. The rooms are clean and have a traditional look with comfy futons. The shared showers had a lot of space and giving a sense of privacy.

The view was nice and the futon was comfortable. They provided bicycles.

Family-run accomodation with traditional rooms and hot bath. All necessary facilities and basic hygiene products available. Good deal for the offered price, also local travellers and workers were staying in this place.

It's a bit outdated and needs some decluttering and repairs, but for the price I could not complain

Staff were very kind and friendly. The futon beds were nice and thick making it the most comfortable sleep we had in Japan, also the duvets were so fluffy and nice. The palace was very clean. Free bikes to rent to ride downtown and also a free lift to the station made it great value for money.
