Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe breakfast is not varied at all but it does its job. The hotel has a slightly aged appearance and the staff does not speak English fluently, but nothing that reduces the hotel's rating or harms the stay.
The hotel's strong point is certainly its location, a stone's throw from the peace museum and the duomo, close to convenience stores and supermarkets, and relatively close to the central station with many bus and tram options. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms have many amenities such as slippers, cosmetics, toothbrushes, etc. One thing that was excellent for me was having a coin laundry to wash and dry clothes at very low prices within the hotel.

United KingdomThe heating was on, unable to be turned off and the front desk ran out of fans. It is my understanding that it's a six months on, six months off situation for the heating but the rooms were uncomfortably hot when the temperature was in the 20s outside.
The location was very convenient, within minutes of both the streetcar and the Astaam stops. Peace Park was only minutes walk away, and convenience stores on the doorstep. The staff were exceptionally lovely and helpful. The decor was a little dated, but clean and functional.

AustraliaHotel hallway and room smelt lightly of cigarettes despite being a non-smoking room. Bathroom was also small and had dust and hair in the bathtub. Room was quite dusty.
Location was convenient as it is right outside a tram stop, where you can take from Hiroshima Station. It is also near the shopping district near Hiroshima Station (15 minute walk) and close to a variety of restaurants and gaming arcades. We couldn't check in early but the hotel clerk was kind enough to show us to a luggage storage section that they had and we stored our luggage there until we could check in.

NetherlandsThe room interior seems quite old and needs to be freshened up. The window couldn't be opened. Staff was friendly but a little below the usual standard of hospitality in Japan. They didn't accept my Japanese residence card and wanted to see my passport, which had never happened to me before in Japan. There was a kettle but no complimentary tea (not that I expected this, but it'd be nice) There was no light in the center of the room, which is quite odd.
The location is great. Staff speaks English too. Bed is comfortable.

JapanIf I have to say….. If I can see any images or pictures about breakfast when I check in! It helps a lot to everyone.^^
I had to bring what I need for myself at 1st floor first before heading to my room. Love this idea not to waste too much. Don’t forget to bring exactly what you need!

United KingdomBreakfast was pretty awful. Not one for international travellers as there wasn’t much in the way of a continental breakfast, just very cheap cornflakes. The room was pretty grim. Old carpet tiles, old fashioned bedding - all very clean - but a bit tired. The whole place needs an update.
Staff were friendly and helpful but spoke very little English and we had to use an online translation service. Not their fault of course, but as I don’t speak Japanese we didn’t get very far. So more of a hotel for locals than for international travellers I would say.

JapanOverall it was a fine stay!
General hotel. Good location, as on tram line and just a short walk from Atomic Bomb Dome. Dim lighting in room, but fine. Bathroom like a wet-room - as poster on door explains, the bath water sometimes overflowsflows from drain below sink when you pull the plug!! My kids freaked out as they thought they had broken the toilet, but it drained again after 10 minutes. Just don't leave dry clothing or towels on bathroom floor. Cheap breakfast (500yen), but we didn't avail due to kids and Corona concerns (July '22).

JapanI understand it’s an older hotel, but the small cleaning details- dusting, cleaning the comforters would be have been great. I couldn’t see anything but I felt like I was being bit by something on my skin. I didn’t feel this under the covers, but on the thick blankets. The dust was the worst. Vacuuming corners too would have been great. There was so much dust in the corners of the room.
The staff was very reasonable. I enjoyed having breakfast daily. I like the upgrade to the room for accommodations. I like that the hotel had washers and dryers.
